Fair enough. I was responding to the title not the specific oil brand question.

Honestly, I'd never heard of the stuff until I saw this post. There isn't even much discussion on the brand over on the Bob Is The Oil Guy site (where you can learn more about oil than you ever thought possible).

Is it any good & less expensive than BMW/Castrol/penzoil

You won’t regret it.

Most of our customers including myself Run Motul Xcess 5W40, highly recommend. Motul 300V, Redline and LiquiMoly are some other popular choices.

Ive tried a few other oils, I found Mobil1 and Royal Purple to shear the most.

I might try Fuchs at some point. California Superbike School has been using Fuchs in their motorcycle fleet for quite a few years. These bikes have been beat to death on the track and I haven't ever seen one bike go down due to mechanical failure in all the years I've been doing track days with them.

Not to be a pooper but I personally wouldn't compare motorcycle oil useage to car oil as motorcycles share the transmission and engine oil, and change interval is much more important than formulation due to the increased shear.

I have personally run the cheapest possible conventional wal mart oils in all my motorcycles for 10+ years without issue, just making sure to change them regularly. I wouldn't do that with my N54.

Because the same oil lubricates the engine and the trans, I would say it's more severe and a pretty good indicator as to how the company formulates their oil. If you were ever at the track and witnessed how hard these bikes are pushed, you would understand what I'm talking about. I know I've banged the bike I was using (BMW S1000RR) off the rev limiter a few times doing 100+MPH down the front straight at about 13k RPMs (don't remember the rev limit of the bike). After my track session lasting about 15 to 20 minutes, I hop off the bike and the rider in the next group jumps on and heads back out on track. And I know for a fact none of the school's bikes have had any oil changes done for the 4 days I was there. These bikes are run constantly from about 8 to 9 in the morning till about 4 or 5 in the afternoon for all 4 days. With periodic breaks for refueling, lunch, etc.

CSS has used Fuchs for decades and have said they've never had any oil related or major catastrophic failures in that time. If Fuchs puts in the same type of science into their automotive oils, it's enough for me to give it a shot with some solid anecdotal data rather than gut feel.

Liqui Molly 5-w30 or 5w-40 depending on your climate (the 40 is for hotter climates)
