Smile What's your preferred modification list?

Hello there,

I'm sitting here listing my personal favourites when it comes to mods for the 1M, while waiting for delivery.

Please, share some of your thoughts, and why not some pictures.

Overall, in my opinion, keeping the car as stock looking as possible is the best. I.e. the AC Schnitzer version makes me sick.

my list:

- Blue paint (much like the ferrari blu tour de france colour)
- ADV.1 wheels, model ADV5.0 Track spec with gunmetal brushed finish. 19"
- Carbon fiber wrapped "diffusor", grille, sidemirrors and window trims.
- Slight window tint all around.
- Akrapovic carbon tip exhaust, the one with the valve(s)?
- K&W suspension
- Seats much like the one AC Schnitzer use.
- The angel eyes bulbs thing you can install.

Now, let me hear your thoughts!

/H

I'd skip the Akrapovic and get RB turbos + catless downpipes.

Looked up the color, nice! Gutsy mod, that will be one unique vehicle, go for it!

Carbon wrap? With so many nice real carbon parts out there, why?

How committed are you regarding this mod particularly as it is the most obvious no-stock looking thing to do?

When's your car due?

Well, to be honest I haven't really searched for different carbon parts at all. Will look it up.. Though I fear of the prices I will find . The most obvious no-stock mod? I totaly disagree. I can think of thousands of things that could make it look a lot more "japanese". Committed to it? I don't know. It's only in my fantasy as of now. But, a change of exhaust, small details and different rims for the summer (will put winter tyres on stock rims) is in the planning.

The car was supposed to be delivered thursday last week, but some sort of delay has occured, so, still waiting.

And also, I already know about the modification thread above, but I don't think this discussion is the same. In that thread, different modification parts are posted - I see this thread more of an inspiration thread.

But now, let me hear your thoughts!

Perfection is achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. I can name a few things to take away from the 1M

All I would change is the seats for performance ones and maybe the same rims as fitted to clockwork orange 1m.

BMW M Performance carbon exterior mirror caps (BMW)
BMW Performance front grille in black (BMW)
iND Gloss black side grille install with dark glass (iND)

Installing rockets under the car sometime this summer and adding a huge verticle shark wing spoiler. Ever since getting the BSM, I've felt the need to wear a bulletproof suit that makes me look like a bat, and fight crime in my Gotham City (aka Charlotte, NC).

Yesterday, I installed an E93 M3 front sway on my 1M. Hoping it will help me put the power down.

Will be at VIR next weekend and let you know my findings.

Do you have the specs on the respective bars?

Doing this from memory, so it may not be accurate.

I believe that the 1M bar is 26.5 mm. It's solid and the diameter is constant from one end to the other. IIRC, it is shared with the E90 and E92 M3.

The E93 M3 bar is listed as 28 mm, but it is hollow and the diameter narrows a bit in the middle.
