Question about different LCI tail light
My car is 2008 E88 with the active headlight so Pre-LCI? And i want to buy the New LCI look tail light. I know there are some good aftermarket tail lights call Black-line LCI tail light.
So what is the different between the OEM LCI from 1M and the aftermarket Black line LCI. If they are at the same price, with one you will go for? Last edited by KA SHING; 04-06-2015 at 01:56 PM.. |

Pics will do:
LCI Blackline High vs. pre-LCI LCI Blackline High vs. LCI High "High" means that the car has rear LED lights (the two bars), the car must be equipped with xenon lights from factory. This was after the LCI update. However, all pre-LCI cars have LED rear lights and the LCI High taillights can be retrofitted without problems IIRC. Blackine taillights, as you can see, are darker. They are OEM, too.

The lci Blackline's are made for BMW. It's available thru any european dealer. US dealers can not sell/order them. Thats why you have to get them from a company that will import the tails or an EU company that will ship them to the USA. Get the Blackline kit that ends in #282. You will get two lci Blacklines that are totally PnP for any US 1er.

Blacklines(left) standard LCI's(right) - same light just that the Blacklines have a very (nice)dark tint to them.

I always wondered the difference between blackline LCIs and just plain LCIs. Thanks! I also just realized thanks to Dack that getbmwparts just sells regular LCIs and not blacklines.

I got my Blacklines from individual-cars.com and it arrived perfectly. Definitely a subtle change that makes a huge difference.

Here are the blackline taillights you are looking for, imported and sold by a US company. You may be able to find them cheaper. Mfg. part number is 63212225282.

I ended up paying 250 euros shipped. I emailed them first and asked them how much would it cost for them to ship it to the US without VAT. Back when I bought it it came to be around 28X USD. But now it should be around 270 USD.
