No Glacier Silver Aluminum Trim for 128i Coupe?

Has anyone tried to order a 128i Coupe with Premium Package and Aluminum trim on/after June 1? I have been told by two dealers that this is not currently possible on the coupe, but can still be done on the convertible.

Could it just be an error in the ordering system? Supply issues with the Aluminum trim? Not a dealbreaker for me, I can live with Grey Poplar, but prefer Aluminum.

I had the same problem, had to go with poplar.

I am not aware that the aluminum trim can be had on the convertible in the US. I could not get it on my 135 convertible.

Nor for the 135i Convertible it would appear. I guess it might blind you with the top down

I tried to order the alum trim back in Feb and it was a no go. The sales manager even called BMW corp office and they said it wasn't available for the 128.

In the end, I got the gloss black trim and I'm actually much happier with it. There is a guy who was willing to trade the Alum trim for the gloss Black on this board somewhere.

You can also order the alum trim from Dan I think.

So is there anyone out there that does have aluminum trim in a 128i Coupe? The updated brochure, order guide, and online configurator all indicate that it can be done. The configurator correctly shows that aluminum trim is not available for either convertible model.

Not going to go through a trim swap/replacement. Gray Polplar is a decent second choice for me and I can live with it. Just want to do what I can to get my first choice!

I just looked at the BMSUSA site and there is no aluminum for the 128 coupe on the configurator. :iono: Just gloss black and 2 wood choices. Seems the aluminum is only for the 135i coupe.

I also wanted the aluminum but "settled" for the gray poplar. Now that I have lived with it in person for a couple of weeks I really like it.

Take a look at the Packages tab in the configurator. When you select the Premium Package, you are able to select from the two woods and aluminum below, and gloss black is no longer available.

In Canada we get an option of the Cashmere Silver on the 128i configurator, is it different to the Glacier Silver Aluminium?
