Cowl delete
I have had my cowl removed from my n54 135i for about 2 years now. I have those two small filters installed. I absolutely love hearing my RB’s spool and hearing my BOV. My question is should I put it back on, I’ve had to have my blower motor replaced twice and I have had to have my crankshaft position sensor replaced two times. It just hit me tonight could this be part of my problem?
Please advise, b |

Is it the BMSm Cowl filters? If so they say no water should be able to get into the HVAC system, but i would look into it, see if installed properly, or any signs of water leaks as that's an alarmingly high failure rate. I can't say for sure though as im not sure where your crank sensors are and such. Could be a lot of factors.

Could just be N54 life
FYI, you can re-install the lower cowl portion but leave the BMS filters in place. That's what I've done because I couldn't stand the injector tick without a cowl. |

Had the same issue, after i replaced my blower motor...
Like the above mentioned check for leaks... I had a leak where the windshield meets the windshield cowl... After some work no issues... |
