Can anyone identify this tool?

Does anyone recognize this. My buddies 135 was brought into a dealer where they found the turbo was destroyed. He has no idea where it came from. Had the car for 6 months. Is this a dealer tool? He said it is an allen key of some sort.

He went to the dealer where they checked for smoke leaks that led to this. He is pretty concerned the dealer could have dropped the tool in the turbo and messed it up.

It's very odd.

I don't understand. Are you saying an allen wrench was somehow lodged into the turbo and destroyed it?

That is what it looks like, a screwdriver version of an allen wrench.

I find all of this really hard to believe.

The tool doesn't look to have a mark on it. Which means it didn't contact anything.
There is not any Torx or Allen screws on the inlet side of the turbo.
The blades cut something that was fairly soft and gradually. If you drop a shop rag in there, it'll tear blades off and bend the hell out of them. This didn't, the blades are very fragile.
But the ware pattern is even. So something was stuck in there. Maybe that 90* right before the turbo kept it from going in further?

I guess the easy way to tell is to pull the inlet of the intercooler off. There should be pieces of whatever it was hung up there.

Please understand this is just information that was provided to my friend from the dealer.

I found this very hard to believe myself. The tool does appear to have very little damage.

Either way i think it is extremely fishy. I actually think the dealer may have done the damage on accident. The car first went in for a boost leak. Told him they were going to smoke it to look for the leak. Ended up with a bad turbo.
