Port for Performance Center Delivery
My 128i convertible is supposed to be finished 6/3 (Wednesday). I am concerned that it will not get to the next ship to leave on 6/6 (Maerskwave) headed to Chareston and the next one is not until 6/17 and is slow too (doesn't arrive until 7/6).
Anybody do performance center delivery and have it ship to another port? Charleston has to be the closest to Greer - my map program says 217 miles - so I am guessing that is what they use. There is a quick boat leaving for Baltimore, however, on 6/17 (Talisman) that would arrive in the U. S. only 4 days after the 6/6 ship. Its about 530 miles Baltimore to Greer, however, which seems like it means they would wait for next ship to Charleston. Anybody with comments, or better yet, experience? Jim

Hate to burst your bubble, there's not much hope for making a boat three days after your car finishes. Some people waited for weeks for their cars to be loaded, when the 1er first came out.
Also, I did Performance Center Delivery and the tracking website showed my car being off loaded in Newark, NJ.

my car was supposed to be finished 6-3...but i really doubt that seeing as it still in 150 status. at this point...i am just relaxing about the whole thing and enjoying Zed as much as i can. i have so much in my life to stress me out, don't need to be biting my nails over this.

As far as I know, BMW doesn't off-load in Baltimore. The ships to Charleston stop there, but only off-load other makes. Since you are in SC, your car will probably be sent to Charleston regardless of whether or not you do PCD.

Thanks guys. I don't see a NJ on the shipping company website but I find a New York, NY - probably where your's was delivered. They have a "Faust" leaving 6/11 arriving 6/25. That would be almost a 2 week improvement from the 6/17 Charleston ship (due to its speed, I presume). So if my 128i is not on the 6/6, which seems likely, I can pray for the 6/11 ship (and a longer truck ride). If it gets to the U. S. A. before the end of June, it seems likely I will have it by mid July.
