Would you be up for a Epic drive?
I was wondering if anyone out there would be up for a epic drive? By epic I mean drive from CA to Yellowstone. I did this in my old E90 last year and it was a blast.
I thought for kicks I would see how many of you would HONESTLY be up for this trip if I plan something. Probably will not be this year as I am working on a 1M / 1er meet. Trying to get BMW NA to support it but in order to get their support I have to fill out a bunch of paperwork... UG. Will keep you all posted on that if you are reading this. So if you would honestly 100% be up for such a adventure let me know. If not me and the misses will go on our own again. |

If its the weekend of 7/7 - 7/8, I could join the drive a bit north of Cali, depending on the route. Would be a blast!

Always could join us from NY ;-)
I have a thread out there for getting all the west coast 1M's and 1ers together. Was looking in Monterey as that seemed to be the place most people liked that had to drive far. As for a Yellowstone drive it looks like next year. The questions would be getting people to join. I have all the details on where to stay just need dates if we did this. Be one of those, you did WHAT with your car drives. But those are what I like the best. |

I would certainly be interested...just I'm from Texas and the whole thing really makes no sense for me. I might meet up in Jellystone though, keep me updated.

What about the first week in June or sometime in mid May? If people did what me and the Mrs's did take 1 day to drive, 2 days in the park and 1 day to drive back. That is the minimum time needed. I would say bump it up to be a full 5 days event as then you can spend more time on the hike trails.
Thoughts suggestions? I am happy to see there are others not afraid to drive their cars =) |

So what is stopping you from meeting us? We could arrange multiple caravans across the US and Canada. The end point would be the same, just getting there could be in different groups.
For those who are interested, West Yellowstone is where we would go for lodging and "base camp". It is right next to the park as well as has that great small town charm. Here is some motivation to do something out of your comfort zone. |

Forgot to ask. If work out the deatils, should this be a 1 Series on event which would of course mean it will be smaller. OR do i open it up to the other BMW community gang?

I'd be down, 1 series meet would be cool for sure, but could we get enough participation in the event. Yellowstone is an awesome place, been there once when i was younger.

My wife and I just drove from Seattle down the Pacific Coast to San Luis
Obispo with stops in Eugene, Napa and Carmel. We then turned east and drove to Vegas, Santa Fe and on to Little Rock. 3200 miles in 8 days. Fantastic trip! |

Can't wait to do it again. We r talking about going down to New Orleans and drive the southern coast across to Savannah. From there go to Asheville drive the dragon and Cherahola skyway and head back to Little Rock across TN stopping in Memphis for some BBQ and Beale Street.
