2) acceleration in 6th gear seems to be a tiny bit better. a few times after i installed it i found myself trying to upshift from 6th gear (i use an auto with paddles) because 6th is usually the sit-and-cruise gear, but it felt like it was still accelerating. however this could be because of #1.

3) full-throttle acceleration seemed to have a tiny bit more urgency to it, and that was with 3 people in the car. i could have been imagining this though.

4) D mode is much more usable now with the throttle remapping. it's much more responsive and much less irritating, but coming from a manual i still need to control the gearbox myself but if you usually drive in D and find it a bit laggy, the throttle remapping definitely helps here.

i need to do some timed runs with dynolicious to get some objective performance results, all i can say for now is that the throttle remapping makes a significant difference, and at least makes the car seem faster. but i'm not an easy person to trick so i'll wait for the numbers
Thanks for that review. The 6th gear acceleration is a good indicator of added power as its easier to notice usually. Glad you're happy with the tune as the combination of throttle remapping and the added 8-10 hp/tq make a very obvious improvement in drivability

After my long drive yesterday in the 42-43 degree heat, i'm looking forward to going for a burl today. Am heading out to get a new computer, will see how 22 degrees goes, and also how she's running. If it's any indicator, like Yuzi said in an earlier post, the Injen is making more noise, so i guess the engine's sucking more air

The throttle mapping does take a little while, i've been getting the revs up too early before i even get the clutch engaged as i was used to doing this with the throttle maps standard, also blipping the throttle on downchanges is a little out of wack, but getting used to it. Might try the 60% throttle map today.

ok, driving around today, car is definitely going harder than before, there's more of a surge in power now.

Stoked.

Yep, i was driving with 60% all day. To be honest, there isn't a great difference i can tell between 60% and 0%, seems more like 100% is extreme and the rest are only slight variances on stock.

The car's got more grunt for sure, took a few days for the thing to settle in i guess, but it's definitely noticeable, very happy

Yeah, it definitely takes a couple of days to work properly i reckon..

Just need to hook up with Chylld for some dynolicious testing

the car definitely feels like it has more urge; it's a similar feeling to going from normal D mode to DS mode in the auto box (i.e. it's like i'm in "DSS" mode now). but i'm waiting for some spare time to get some real numbers to back the impressions up, janus how's your time saturday after 10am?

I reckon Saturday after 10am is good for me at this point.

I can give the car a quick wash first! Where's a good spot to do testing?

saweet, it's in my schedule

I reckon the results should be good, my car's hammering now... taken a few days, initially i was unconvinced, but now it's definitely going harder.

I give it the Arnold Hamfatter tick of approval.

Dropped back to map #2 today (60% throttle remapping) - MUCH BETTER The annoying lump of oomph is gone and I'm now getting a seamless build-up of acceleration - very linear, which is exactly what I was looking for. Throttle response in 1st through 4th gears is now very similar to that in a 370z.

High gear acceleration somehow seems to have improved even more - the car holds 6th gear easily at 65kph going uphill now, whereas it struggled a bit before.

Be interested to see what impact it has on fuel consumption. Any concerns at this stage, guys?

currently at 11.3 L/100km, usually i'm at about 10.8. but i have been driving quite spirited since i installed the box, very similar to when i started using DS instead of D mode. so no concerns at this stage

Any Canadians installed this mod yet? I'm certainly interested. Very worried about dealer stuff though. I've been dicked around by my dealer already, i'm very afraid of warranty issues. Considering my engine is making the ticking noise and i'll have to un-install my injen to take it in to get looked at.

I've installed about 5-7 locally in the GTA. There are a bunch of reviews in the Canada subforum

Had a search but can't find these... linky?

Map 2 is perfect, very linear, exactly what I wanted from my car that BMW didn't give me straight from the factory. Map 3 I can understand as the default because it provides the biggest difference to the consumer, but after a while it becomes plainly obvious that it's an artificial 'lump' of power and for everyday driving map 2 is win
