Mounts work better with the jb4 app than a pocket does.

Yeah, well, I have a 128, not a 135, and it doesn't need a JB4 - and as I mentioned before, I don't use my phone for anything but phone calls, mainly because that's all it can do. I'd use bluetooth to link it to the car, but in a convertible, it's just too noisy unless you're sitting still.

I recently got one of these, and it works great. Makes the phone look like it's just floating in space, above your radio controls, but below the middle-dash air vents, and doesn't block either. Will handle pretty much any size phone.

I've been using this one for years on my iPhone 4, 5 and now 6:
http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Qui...ld+phone+mount Works great. Once in a blue moon the phone/clip part will come off. But it's very stable and simple and doesn't rattle or look like some kind of 1000 piece contraption. Also doesn't block anything (vents, radio) and keep the phone in eyesight (Waze is awesome). Being on the windshield means the phone is far away (which is generally fine, less temptation to touch it while DRIVING) but I do have long arms if I need to adjust something or let others know the cops are on the side of the road (WAZE FTW!)

Cheap and works very well. Also the mount isn't huge and you can rotate the screen

I find phones to be distracting when I drive, so I throw mine away every time I get in the car.
I'm tired of getting new phones.

Used to use a ProClip Vent mount w/ stick on magnetic mount (~$45 total), placed on the vent directly to the right of the driver (LHD). Great fitment, position, and convenience w/ a Pitaka case (has integrated magnets), but wasn't a fan of how it blocks the majority of the vent.
Granted, I took it down just before I had 3M crystalline tint installed, so blocking the vent probably wouldn't be as much of an issue now. However, I've found that the steering wheel controls and my Apple Watch for directions (when needed) are all that I really need. Also cleans up the look of the interior. If I was going to mount it again, I'd go with a high quality CD mount. |

I'm trying to figure out where I want my phone mounted right now. I use it for navigation.
I got a mount that can be mounted on the top of the dash and be configured in any shape. Where I want it goes right over the heater vent. Where it should go is on the passenger side of the heater, but I like my phone as close to my line of driving sight as possible without obstructing my view. I might just keep that vent off and put it where I want. |
