Anybody else with the Dinan tune experience this?

What, that is funny (sorry about your problem). I have yet to hear that issue with the Flash. I use cruise on the weekends with no problems.

Joel,
I've had a good amount of experience with modified cars and can answer you here. If you make any additional modifications to the car, you should have the ECU updated to account for that change.

There is typically headroom built into an ECU flash that will allow you to get away with a few additional modifications, but I don't think you want to be the one who finds out whether it's the high flow intake or the downpipes that put you over the line.

Not to mention the fact that Dinan would void the warranty!
Best,
John

Being a novice in the aftermarket / tuning department, I can't help wondering if you can add mod after mod and expect a net performance increase.

Should I have any concerns about modifying the stock intake, DPs, or exhaust given that I assume the Dinan software was written expecting a stock setup?

First, I only have 650 miles on my 135i and feel it's already insanely FAST!
Also, please don't hate me for having Auto Trans with paddles. My question is, would the Dinan software be 'as good' for an Auto Trans, or will I not see/feel a significant difference? Thanks in advance:thumbup:.

Dianan Tech support said that 3 other 1's already reported experiencing this problem when i notified them of the issue. It's not a big deal, and I know they will come up with a fix.

First, the Dinan flash will work just as well with auto w/ paddles as it will with 6MT.

Second, it's nice to see another Indy person on the boards!

Any of these tuned 135i's 3/08 builds? Also, I can't remember if it was asked or not but will dp's compliment the flash and vice versa? Other piggyback tunes make special maps for the dp's. Not sure if these two compliment each other as well as the customized piggyback dp tunes do.

OK, I just drove around town for about 80 miles tonight after just getting my car from the dealer yesterday. It's peppy and VERY smooth but definitely not something I would consider "fast." I love everything about the car so far but the Dinan upgrade is a must-do for me.

I can't seem to get *anyone* on the phone at Dinan.. after trying to call a few different times. Are they afraid to answer the phones knowing everyone calling them wants to know when they'll finally crack the new encryption?

I spoke with Eric from Dinan today he stated that they are working on the Post 3/08 programing as we speak but no ETA. And that the Signature kits will be ready in about 5-6 months. I was really hoping it would be sooner. I do not think I can wait that long to do me Suspension and exhaust

Thanks! Hopefully, they'll figure it out just in time for me to get the upgrade after breaking my car in for awhile. Do they have plans for an intercooler? What's included in the signature kit?

Yes they will be working on the intercooler but the Flash is there number one priority. They have a ton of people waiting for it, take a look at the Dinan website under the 335i and look at the Signature kit.

Something I never really thought about.. Would Dinan have a problem if we install the performance catalog intake with their software?

Can you buy parts such as the Dinan intercooler mail order to save some money?

FWIW (prob very little), I heard 2nd hand from an excellent source with close ties to Dinan that they have figured out how to get around the 3/8 issue and are actively working on getting it implemented. no eta as others mentioned ... but it sounded like it was going as well as could be expected.

take with the requisite grain of salt but i'd put money on it being legit.

I have a contact that says he knows the Dinan family members, etc. I guess it's time to call him.
