Interesting. I must live in a really high risk suburb (gulp!) given that Sydney is usually higher than Melb and under 30's in general gets charged more.

My quote was through allianz, but it was only for the coupe not convertible. They havent listed the vert yet.So it might be slightly more expensive for the vert.Kris your quote was reasonable considering your age.

Zuzu. What did Allianz quote you, if you don't mind me asking?

On the coupe around $1,370.. prob is when you start to add on extras it wont quote you online and refers you to their phone operators. So that was really for a virtually 135i manual stock.

I've just got various online quotes...cheapest is 'Just Car' - provided you factor in their highest excess option of $1,500 (I always do this anyway).

They don't yet include the 135i as a model you can select from online - but you can choose to enter in all of your info online and someone will email you back with a quote (which they did within the hour for me).

Not sure which quote/price you're referring to, professor...but the quote I got from Just Car is about half the price of what others have been quoted so far on this thread. As I say, this is with the $1,500 excess though.

As for Just Car as a company...I've had insurance with them before and found them ok to deal with - my understanding is that they're just an arm of AAMI. Mind you, I've never had to make a claim.

i was referring to your suggestion eureka. i got a quote of just over 700 with them at that level of excess (which is admittedly higher than i'd want to go!). if there isn't much difference in quality between them and their parent company then they may well deserve a second look.

That's good to hear professor.

Personally, I've always gone for the highest excess possible...it works well until you have to make a claim!

I've had BMW Insurance a couple of times. Excellent value for first 2-3 years of policy, but starts to increase big time once the car's warranty ends for some reason. I've had to claim via them too. All good. I've also claimed via RACV and had a good experience as well.

Yeah - 60%.

They asked me if I had a speeding fine in the last 5 years and I said yes. Most companies don't ask about speeding right?

Worse still the computer program used the 130 hatch as an example because the 135 is available yet so it's likely to be more. They are going to call me again tomorrow but it's definitely not $900 that others got quoted!

Try allianz..
Could be your suburb.
We moved homes about 14 months ago and our car insurance dropped by 38%..
Unbelievable...I have been trying to get quotes for our new vert, but all the insurance sites havent listed the vert, only the coupe.

my $2 cents...i got quoted $1,555.46 for a 135i @ 85K . Will try CGU as they have a discount if you do less than 15,000 KM a year....
