Either the 335/135 doing 175-180 bone stock? Not a chance.
It takes way more hp to push a car through the air at higher speeds. Heres my 135 and Corvette nose to nose. The Chevy is lighter(a couple hundred pounds) and sits much lower that the BMW's. The Vette, when it was factory stock had a drag limited top end of 186mph. It also has 100 more hp, 100 more tq than the N54/55 plants. Im thinking not much more than the 155 limit.

My buddy(NYPD) and I did an inpromtu test with my 135. Speedo at 50mph was 3mph optimistic. At 100mph it was 7mph off. My Corvette speedo is spot on accurate(also tested in the same manner). I would expect German engineering and time keeping to get that right. Maybe they should outsource gauges to the Swiss.

Interesting that in your speedo pic showing top end, your oil temp isnt even at the halfway point. Running a car at that speed produces a lot of heat stress!

The Bugatti comment. I have no idea what that means.

Didnt know it was an old thread but anyway, the information is still relevant 4 years later.

That in order to go 10 mph faster than a Mclaren F1 they needed to give their brick of a car an extra 400 horsepower

So, they know that already(obviously). Telling them or not telling them would be a moot point. Thats why your comment doesnt make sense.

I credit the low(er) oil temps to using German Castrol motor oil. I use Castrol RS Edge 0w40 LL-4 oil. I noticed right from the start that the engine runs queiter on cold starts (sounds less metallic) and my oil temps were two needle widths lower compared to Mobil-1 0w40 LL-1 euro blend oil.

The hotest my oil temp ever gets is just past 250' F, but you really need to push the car to get it that hot. I noticed that only when I drove up the Stelvio Pass.

Yup, our car's do feel "nervous" from 220 on up. I noticed when I went with 225/255's the front end felt a little bit better at high speeds (220 to 250 kph). But really anything above 250 lph and you really have to ready to correct the front end toe changes as the suspension moves up/down. Its just something about our car's design. This is where an M3 feels rock solid.

And another thing of concern is the hood on our cars tends to move around a lot! The hood's corners get lifted up at high speeds (220_ kph) and actually lifts up a few inches. It will look like the hood is open.... but its not. Scarry the first time you notice/see this.
