SOOooo, the gurney flap (lip spoiler ) .... NE1 else hate this thing?

I sure hope this thing is only on with 2 sided tape.....
JMO, but it looks like a cheap piece of you know what.... :frown:
Attachment 1412

It doen't flow with any of the body lines, it's just plopped on top of the deck lid.
A proper lip should be an extension of the cars lines....
Opinions?????

What the hell purpose does it serve.:bs: The intergrate trunk lid spoiler is awesome by itself. Is that an option? if so who in the hell is gonna add it? I bet it cost like $300

Never really noticed it until OP pointed it out.

It overall _fits_ with the creases and body lines, but looking closer, it does look bad.

It would look better imo, if the flap was integrated, and was one piece with the trunk, without any creases.

I really like lip spoilers too;
I just think this one could have been designed to accentuate the lines a little better.
...more like the E46 lip spoiler does.

It may be one of those "better in person" things :iono:
In most of the pics, it just looks a little off to me.

Yah I'm not too big on this either. Unless it looks better in person, I'm gonna be taking it off.

I like lip spoilers, including this one. I have a similar one on my E46, so I may be biased.

I just hope it's not bonded in place. (like the E90 spoiler)
If it's just 2 sided tape.... no worries.

I like them as well. I have one on my TL and I'm fine with the one on the 135i, but as usual options are good.

double sided type okay, but if it is bonded that would extremely suck. and in bmw's case, it is probably bonded. DAMN YOU BMW SPOILER

I really wish a certain person on this board would stop acting like a tool and respect other peoples preferences in styling.

Gurney flaps may look silly (or not) and useless, however, they are really very effective, even though they look too small to do anything...

If its a an option I'm definitely not getting it but if its there I'll keep it. Its just one more thing to differentiate my 135i from a 128i on top of everything else.
