Has anyone declined delivery?

I have an AW/Coral in production and I am about to make myself sick. After seeing Coral in person before ordering I am now having second thoughts about whether I can live with it in the long run.

I have signed a buy order with my dealer and put $1K down. Can I decline delivery? Please no lectures, I just want to know my options.

Thanks.

You need to look a your paperwork and TX law. A buy order is not a sales contract. alot of dealers make up order documents that may or may not be binding .

The dealer will most likely work with you if you talk to them sooner than later. worst case is you are out $1000.

what is the exact name of the document you signed ? "buy order" is not a standard document

Honestly, I think you will love Coral once you get it. I went back and forth on mine as well and now I love it. It works really well with AW.

I went back and forth every day until delivery with the same thoughts you are probably having. I think it works really well and there is enough black in the interior to break things up a bit and not be overwhelming.

At one point you thought it was right for you, I wouldn't second guess yourself!

I know of one member on here who declined delivery because the #s were just too high for his budget. The car remained on the dealer's lot and his deposit was withheld till the car was actually sold. I think it took a few months but the car did eventually sell and he did get his deposit back. This was in NJ though.

I think in most states the dealer can not keep your deposit. That certainly is this case in MA at least. In my case, the dealer never even got around to charging my credit card for my deposit (I accepted delivery though, and all was good).

In the meantime think some more about whether you'll like coral or not. If I could do it all over again, I might get AW w/coral -- it's a beautiful combination and it's unique but not gaudy like, uh, montego/coral, lol.

Given your reservations - even if they don't last - I'd use a bit of time while waiting for delivery to review your 'contract' and then discuss your understanding with the CA who wrote it. No harm done to understand your options, and surely this isn't the first time your dealer has discovered a client who is second-guessing his or her buy decision.

yeah man...I think you are second guessing yourself way too much. Coral red is incredible looking, and you will be fine in the long run.

After seeing tons of photos of Coral, I actually got to sit in a BSM/Coral a few weeks back.

I liked it way better in person than in the photos.

Yes, all of those people who tout AW/Coral are right. It's a good combo.

this is just me, so don't get pissed off or anything, but i've always thought bright red leather in any car is a bit gaudy.

i don't think it looks bad, but there's definitely quite a bit of gaudiness to red leather in general, in my opinion.

I changed my color combo about 4 times. So, by the fourth time the dealer didn't make the change and the car went into production. I just told them I ain't gonna buy the car and to give me back the $1000 deposit. They ended up letting me do another order.

For me... no buyer's remorse especially if it's $40k+. I would ask them. It wouldn't hurt.

I am going to stick with it after just seeing a cable special "Cars" about Ralph Lauren's car collection. There were red Alfas with red leather, black Jaguars with green leather and, of course, a silver/red gullwing Mercedes. Yes, these were classic, priceless cars but it put me back in the mood for taking a chance. I have been driving a dark silver on grey Cooper S for 5 1/2 years so I am ready for something new.

Besides I remember it looking more like this than "whore lipstick red".

I have AW, Coral, glacier, tint, 135i and it's totally sick! NOBODY has commented they don't like the colours!!!! NOBODY!... Nobody living that is...kidding...

The tint really makes the car look totally hot. BTW I like to grumpble about cars...always had done that...till this 1...I don't care about little things anymore! The ride is soooo nice.

EspressoBoy

PS
Is that for the 2009? If so did U order NAV? NAV 2009 is going to be amazing!!!!

As for getting out of it... many have commented how much of a pain the dealership can be... my advice, do some searches here, PM the ppl and find out what exactly happened to them... I think I have read about 2-3 ppl getting out of the deal... usually because another deal came up, or they over estimated their lack of $$$. I bet you could bet a 100 ppl here who have the same car, that they will wager that you will love it! I know it's not possible to bet here, but I am that sure you will absolutely love the colours! Just be glad you didn't get Red on red...now that would be yucky for sure...

I recently purchased BSM/coral and could not be happier. The coral with the aluminum really works well. You will not be dissapointed.

OK, just my .02. Before I thought red in a white car was horrible, I would NEVER do something like that!!! BUT after seeing it and buying mine, I would not change it for any other color. AW and Coral is a GREAT look.

Ya know, a little off topic but Minis have a similar interior color to our 1s Coral Red...
