I don't see much risk from losing the amber corners if you keep the amber turn signal bulbs and have working drls. Or even better, HID angel eyes. Sad that the OP never returned!

Only risk is that you are required to have amber reflectors on side of the car. If you ever fail state inspection, you would have to buy new headlights. That said, I've completely shaved my side markers and color matched markers on previous cars and never had an issue.

Would like to see the finalized pics.. I've been debating this as well.

or just stick on a sticky reflector from an autostore for inspection

That could work as well, although some states only have inspections on sight and LEO's will give "fix it" tickets. Sometimes the hassle isn't worth it. Just saying that the clear/ color matched corners are usually pretty easy to swap in and out. This mod shouldn't be done unless you know fully what you are getting into as it is not easily reversible.
