Talking $116 Ins Discount: BMW Assist + CCA Membership

I just called Progressive Insurance and saved $116 off of my annual BMW 135i policy costs.

-$91: BMW Car Club of America member.
-$25: BMW Assist Stolen Vehicle Recovery. (http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...ist/SafetyPlan)

Funny, I thought tracking your car in case of theft would get you a bigger discount, but no. If you have iDrive, or you're a CCA member, you should call for your discount.

FYI, here's my pre-discount details for 6 month coverage, San Fran, 10K miles/yr.

Nice discounts, and thanks for sharing!! I have the reduction afforded by BMW Assist, but not the CCA one. I'll see if my insurer honors that discount.

However, I would definitely up your per person/per incident amounts though, by a lot. A 3 day hospital stay with surgery involved would easily eat up $100,000. The rest you'd personally be held liable for.

It's not that much money at all to raise the coverage amounts. I believe I am at $500k/$2M right now, and it was not that much more to do, and I'm much less at risk to lose my personal assets should I be found responsible for a pricey accident (God forbid)

I have Liberty Mutual and they give me a $250 discount a year because I own a BMW. Not sure about a CCA discount tho...I will need to look that up.

I wondered the same thing. Maybe they assume CCA members are better/more serious drivers?

Post Just a club discount...

I think it's just a club discount like if you were in AAA, AARP, Costco, etc.

For example, Costco membership got me 10% off my latest Budget rental car rate. They ask for the card when you pick up the car.

I'd get a quote from Geico if I were you. That's about what Progressive quoted me when I bought the car, and I'm paying half that with Geico. Just FYI.
