Production # 390****
Cool Guy, I spoke with the BMW Nurse and he told mine Is a week 8 Prod., maybe his calendar was diff. than mine but he told me My car would start Production the week of Feb 4th. He said it would only take Between 5-8 days to finish Production. It takes 4-8 days to leave the port in Germany, Bout 2 weeks on the boat and 5-7 days at the port of entry and a few days to the dealership.
So if the time line is correct (or in a perfect world ) I would have mine on Launch date!! You said you were Week 7 so we would be right around the same time!! Alpine White Baby!!! Coral Red Leather Glacier Silver Aluminum Trim Premium Package Sport Package Heated seats Ipod/USB Premium Sound Paddle Shifters ( Automatic Wife can't Drive a stick ) Possibly: Comfort access Rear Backing Sensors Have not decided if I was going to call to have these options added. Not really Necessary options But cool to have Not sure if they're worth $850.00 ??? Can't Wait!!!!!:eyebulge: |

I looked at renting a stick but they are just not avail. around here! And there is no way I will teach her on the 1'r. She is very uncoordinated. and usually very cautious.... So I can see her holding in the clutch while giving it gas but not releasing the clutch! and me going NutZ
Now how would the down hill decent help with teaching her to work a clutch?? |

It's not a downhill decent, the system brakes the car for a few seconds to prevent the car rolling backwards on uphill starts, which makes it a little easier for a learner to control and feed out the clutch pedal.

For me I am sure the auto will be faster, I am just not well practiced in a manual. Maybe after awhile but I also don't think I would be able to get on an open road to enjoy the manual enough to make it worth it.

If you dealer is one of top dealers in your region, then they will get more cars, thus you get you car sooner. This is what I was told

I agree. So far the production numbers haven't meant squat. If you were first or second on your dealers list, it seems those cars were mfg'd at the same time.

Mine was finished today, I was production number 3911 so I don't think that has a lot to do with it. It was also my dealer's only first allocation car though so volume may not be a determining factor either.
