Honestly, your best bet is to bring it to a muffler shop and have them turn the street version into a straight pipe race version. The muffler is your enemy.

Just wanted to chime in: I've been hearing this intermittently with mine as well. I can say it's not the connection to the midpipes and not something else. I uninstalled/reinstalled (no difference) and the sound goes away with the OEM axleback on.

Mine doesn't sound nearly as bad as yours though, and it's not an all the time thing. Can only hear it sometimes, specifically with the windows down, when I'm at WOT right next to a barrier. My car is a N54 though, maybe it's worse with the N55? Cant think of why unless its actually something to do with the turbocharger(s) and flow dynamics with the specific muffler they have chosen. Or maybe catted midpipes on N54. Hm.

Also wanted to clarify, having the muffler cut off actually fixed the problem, not covered it up with 100+ dB truck noise?

I said fuk it.
Went to a shop and had them cut off the muffler and welded a straight pipe.
no muffler with catless DP is one of the best sounds!! Loud, but fun

Had the same issue with my Berk street... After a little back and forth, they eventually replaced it. Issue resolved.

I bought mine used on this site unfortunately....they said its car based so I guess I'll be pulling it off soon and selling it.
