I also have the e93 bar in my 128 w/sport suspension.. also came in 1st in my class out of 4 and im really not a great auto-x er... But i will tell you this, the Chief Instructor (Andre') for the BMWCCA took my car out at the end of the day and went 1.6 seconds faster.... he loved the car.. and for those M3 haters out there, same instructor in a nicely prepped M3 that he also drove for the first time got almost identical time as he did in my car..

Many who have pm'd me have received a response to purchase from Tischer BMW. The guys at Tischer and myself have had a long conversation and they are more than happy to accept your orders at my group buy price until the end of the month. Out of country shipments from Tischer may have a varying shipping costs that differ from ours. I recommend you email or message them before ordering. Also, I will try my best to answer any questions you may have once I return from my conference this Friday. Dan

Haha, I decided to go with the sway bar. I purchased it from a local dealer who gave me a nice discount and now I have to wait two weeks for it to ship from Germany =(

In theory... yes. It's a tight fit under the car, with the front suspension loaded. I'm wondering if you can get the bar out, and the new bar in, under load. I know you can do it with no load on the front suspension!

Got my swaybar in today and I can say that turning is a lot less effort and the car seems more responsive. Haven't really took it on a real flogging yet due to salty road conditions.

ok guys here's an update! i just got back from the track and got to test my last few mods out at the edge...
since my last hpde i installed the e93 swaybar, cobb ap, and kumho ecsta xs's on the stock wheels (bumped to 225 up front) Starting with my lap times, i haven't been to the track in 6 weeks, i dropped from consistent mid 41 second runs to consistent very low 40 second runs. I would safely say a full second. After I get used to the car i think I will see another full second drop off. My best lap time was a 39.13. All of this was done on the L1 course of Driveway Austin. I'll jump straight to the sway bar part of the review before getting to the other key parts and add this to the original post shortly thereafter. I am no longer hanging on for dear life around corners. My ribs literally hurt from being pinned to the sides of my sport seats last time I was at the track. This time it was very very easy to drive the car really hard. There is a noticeable increase in under steer. I know i read a lot of people saying it didn't change the under steer much but it was pushing the front of the car and made it very hard to rotate the car on a sweeping decreasing double radius when lifting off throttle. I definitely need a larger bar in the rear now or need to drop the car a bit or add camber up front or something. Don;t get me wrong street driving is impeccable with this mod but it fixed one issue at the track as far as body roll and confidence and added another problem in increased under steer. I think this mod was a good change overall but I have some more work to do to balance her back out. I'll link to the tire review here shortly ::: coming soon I'll link to the cobb ap track review here ::: coming soon

I'm hesitant to do this mod now......I run stock suspension with Vorschlag camber plates set at -2 degrees at the front. I don't want to do anything to increase understeer during hard driving on lapping days. I find the balance quite good right now when it comes to grip and the ability of the car to rotate with throttle. I presume that your decrease in laptime is mostly from the added engine power?.......or do you think the decreased body roll is contributing to increased confidence and you are pushing the car harder in the corners than before?

the track is primarily hard lefts and with hot tire pressures pushing 51 psi I am still destroying the outer edge of my front left tire. i definitely think the m3 control arms and vorschlag camber plates are my next mods. What is stock camber specs? I'm guessing with the suspension design in the 135 the camber does not increase as suspension travel like my honda double wishbone used to? Some of my tire wear issues are also my driving technique needing some refinement as well...
i do think the decreased lap times are from the power increase and not the swaybar but it is also the tires. I went from run flats that were nearly bald to kumho ecsta xs's which have some insane grip. i had a friend take some great action photos with a 18 megapixel dslr that will show what the body roll looks like as i enter the harder two lefts at the track. I'll post them next week so everyone can get an idea of how little body roll there is with the m3 bar. i would still recommend this bar for daily driving and even for the track/auto-x but it is not an end all be all fix to the suspension woes in this car.

I hope to have done the correct purchase... Yesterday i've withdrawn my e93 rear sway bar with all supports (709/710/714*2).
I'll install it on next saturday and on the 16th i'll try my car again at MWC (Misano World Circuit)... Hope to obtain less sway and understeer! Ps: atm i've -1.10° camber on front wheels, -1.60° rear. |

my cold pressures were 40 all around. ambient was about 80 degrees in direct sunlight, dropped cold pressures to 36 and all tires except the front right were wearing perfect. I have to do something about camber on the front and work on my driving lines to stop murdering that front right tire... next week we'll see if I can fix it with just technique.

Yeah I was coming in 36 hot on left front wheel but only 35 on right. Auto-x is almost always more intense on one side as the course is short.
I took off like 4 seconds on 55s course after camber/FSB as I had to adjust my driving because car was behaving completely different from last time I was out. |

Just picked up my sway bar...confirmed all the part numbers.
BMW quoted me 1 hr (or $160) for install...is that reasonable?

I did this yesterday in my garage with the car on jack stands. Wheels out and extra bracing on the convertible that had to be removed. From start to finish it took me 3 hours. I would consider myself a novice, so a 1 hour charge at a shop with a lift, does not sound bad, IMO.

Wow you guys are all so mechnically inclined.
I got another quote for 45 mins ($60), I think I'll just get it done there along with wheel swap (yay spring).
