Thinking about those same wheels (assuming they're LTW5's in 17x8.5). Are you running a square setup? What tire size? Overall impressions?

It was my first time running the 135i on a track. I'm running a 245/40/17 squared set up, LTW5s 17x8.5. Suspension consisted for BMW Performance springs, Koni dampers and M3 bits. My previous track car was an E36 M3 with AST 4100s. Grip was outstanding and never felt like I was going to lose it. There was a bit of understeer. It's heavier and doesn't turn in as well as my M3 did. You could really feel the weight of the car especially around the corners. Body roll was significantly more then my M3 also. I've added the M3 swaybar since my last track day and stiffened up the front Konis a bit. I never got completely comfortable with the car. It rained 5 out of the 8 sessions, so only 3 dry sessions. The throttle response and power was exceptional and had no cooling issues, of course it never got above 75 degrees. Overall I was a bit disappointed, but credit that to lack of familiarity with the car around a track. I think with some more track time I'll eventually be faster in my 135i then my M3. Next track day is in August at the Autobahn.

So no problem running 245's? I was debating between that and 235's. I've got -1.8° of camber in the front, so that should help. I've heard the rears can be a problem with the ET40 offsets, but it doesn't sound like you're having any problems. Thanks!

No issues with 245s on my part. I have -2.2 camber up front and -2 in the rear. No rubbing issues with the BMW Performance springs. See what happens when I switch to the Swift springs, but that should only lower my car at max another .5 inches below my current set up so I should still be ok.

Just to be more specific, what brand of tire are you running? And are they 245/35, 245/40, or 245/45?

I'm running 245/40/17. I'm running Michelin Pilot Super Sports, not optimum but it's what I got. This was actually my street set up for my e36 M3. When I parted out my M3, I sold my track wheels, Kosei wheels with Star Specs. As soon as I wear the PSS out I'm switching over to either the G-Force Rivals or the Dirzerra IIs.

Sport Springs Spec-R is engineered with 2 main characteristics.

1 Redesign lowering ride height to maximize the suspension performance allowing the vehicle to fully absorb road condition for maximum traction.

2 Increase in spring rate to further enhance cornering speed through entry & exit. The increase in spring rate is based on the vehicle factory stock valving settings. Sport Springs Spec-R is increase to the optimal rate that the stock shocks can handle. Higher performance shocks are not required, but recommended.

Spec R springs are wound with the same engineering as our sports springs. With the exception of stiffer rates and slight change in ride height; you can expect the same characteristics as our sports springs.

H5S.TW

Motorsport's most advanced spring material

Swift made a name for itself on the tracks of Asia, Europe, and U.S. by defying all accepted concepts and speculations about the future, if any, in coil spring science.
When many other company were looking at expensive and brittle titanium composites to create the next evolution of springs, Swift was looking at reinventing the entire science of coil spring dynamics. Swift saw that most others are using the old regular silicone chrome material, which was not strong enough. It used a heat tempering method that damaged the strength of the material that requiring more coils, in turn, more weight.
The material was also suffering from a short life span. With springs like this leading the industries, Swift saw room for improvement.

Swift's R & D team created material, called H5S.TW, which is stronger then regular silicone chrome material. Because of this material, we could make the spring wire thinner, and could wind the springs with fewer coils, which greatly decreased weight while dramatically increasing available stroke.

135i lowering:

1" in the front and 1" in the rear.

Spring rate:

-3.6kg/mm or 201 lb/in in the front
-9kg/mm or 503 lb/in the rear

***Available on 7/15***
Interesting, I'm looking for something that doesnt compromise the ride quality but still drops it a bit. The BMWPS dont look to drop enough. Anyone have these installed care to comment on the ride?

Also, what kind of wheels on that white 135? They look like M Parallels. Forgeline DS3's??

I'm installing the Swift Springs next week. Have BMWPS right now. I'll post my impressions when I get them installed. Have a track day a week after the install also.

Just installed these with Koni Yellows. Love the way it looks and handles now. Not too stiff for daily driving and its the perfect height.

I took measurements before I installed since I couldn't find a definitive answer when doing research.

2011 M sport to Swift Springs: Fender to bottom of wheel
F: -3/4"
R: -5/8"

Took the measurements right after install so they havent settled yet if they are going to.
