3) Part of Right/Left Qtr Panel (that traingle created by Fender and Hood)
4) Both Side view mirrors

10 Year warrant including Parts and labor.

$1450 So, is this a good price?
For a few hundred $ more you should be able to do full front clip - fenders, hood, bumper, mirrors.

I would pay a bit more and do full front, and impact areas at the rear.

Ok, so the price to do the full hood was way more expensive....they quoted me $2,350? Another $900? Can that be correct?

Based on the Xpel website (http://www.xpel.com/paint-protection...BMW/1_Series_M) it looks like the difference between 1/4 hood and full hood is ~$800. I doubt the installer is paying MSRP for the film kits...

Thank you for this :-) At least I know they were being relatively honest?

Surprised it is that much more tho!

Forget the 3m film, Chicago gets the bullet proof film, 9mm.

Seems a bit steep. If rear impact areas are included in that price, then that is ok (as long as it is very high quality work, and swirl mark removal is included in here).

Make sure to get a contract written up...and any warranties should be included on there.

Thanks for input...

So, I called around to another local XPEL Shop who is actually Premier XPEL Vendor and they quoted me a better price overall than the previous quote I received. Best thing is they are the SHOP my local BMW Dealer goes to have this service done!

1) Full Hood
2) Right & Left Front Fender
3) Both side view Mirrors
4) Full Front Bumper

They are asking $1800...Thoughts?

I'm just wondering if I should do the Rear Wheel Impact Area??? ...Thoughts?

Thanks as always :-)

Yes you should. That is a good price.

Is prep work included in price? I am referring to decontamination and swirl mark removal.

So, is it the sun exposure that makes them yellow?

What are everyone's thoughts on doing the Rocker panel on both sides?

Why are you doing a combo and not just all Suntek?

Regarding film yellowing in general, it's caused by environment, chemicals, not washing, sun and crappy film so I'm told. It does have a shelf life and should be replaced at the recommended time as the film can be a b*tch to remove if left on too long, also likely to pull paint. My 1M spends its time covered in the garage, sad I know, the film is a 7yrs old however.

Why not do just one film? My installer/buddy prefers Suntek even though Xpel is thicker, so the compromise was to do just the rockers, downfall to Xpel is the stronger adhesive properties and maybe transparency, (so he says) but I can't tell. Suntek is thinner which means it's slightly clearer + easier to remove.

Thus far he has only done the bumper and rockers; hood, A pillars, fenders, doors, roof, and luggage still to come, but I think it will be all Suntek.

My buddy can also laser cut and ship the 1M film kits -for a discount I'm sure; lmk if there is any interest. He carries 4 films.

I don't think because it's thicker necessarily means it protects any better. My friend has a Tesla and someone through a rock from an over pass onto his hood and while it dented his hood, it didn't go thru the Suntek clear bra. I'm not sure how much more protection you need...

Also, if any clear bra pulls paint that probably means you have non-oem paint and didnt apply enough heat to remove the bra.

Took the 1M in today to have the full front hood and bumper done....ended up adding the rocker panels and front of rear wheels.

In my short time of ownership, I've really noticed that a lot gets kicked up from the front wheels to the front side of the rear wheels.

Threw in a mini detail as well

Lucky for him, dents are easier to repair. Wonder how much softer those aluminum body's are?

My Xpel came off easily and left almost no glue; heated by mother nature. That wasn't the case for the 997.2 turbo next to me that had its film on for 10yrs. Took them all day to remove!

Price above sounds fair.

90,000 miles of high speed cross country touring and in some ways (wheels, upholstery) my car shows it, but other than a scrape that went through the film, the paint is perfect. Any car I care about (not including my wife’s Toyota) will get it.

this is where I bought my materials xpel ult from .
they have the best prices so far, that I know of, and they sell in bulk. I order the kit through them and told them I want to wrap around so no lines is showing and they accommodate me. No lines on fenders or hood,
materials for full hood, full fenders bumpers n mirrors around $850 for my GT3.

for those who wants to save $$$ and do it themselves lol
