Here is a thread to a bunch of pictures of my e90 with the clear bra. You can judge whether or not you can see it... (Scrolling through I couldn't see it on any of them)
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=ultimate+mod PS. It is on there too!! (Just in case you don't believe that I have it)

Holy shit... yes.. Even at the stealership it was only $700. So anything more than $700 is a complete ripoff...

Mine was right at $1100 for 20% tint all the way around and the full 3M kit including the whole front bumper, the front of the hood and fenders, all 4 door handles and the rear trunk deck.
Worth every penny, but make sure you get a installer who knows what they are doing. Jesse |

i have it on my jet black 330, and i am not so sure if i could go back in time.... if i would do it again. When the car is perfectly clean its only sort of noticable. When it gets only a little bet dirty though, it is completly obvious. The edge of the clear bra becomes a light color which shows against the black car. Most of the time when people see it they ask me, "who keyed you?" On the other hand it has definitley protected my car againgst dings and scrathes.
But let me pose a question: If im afriad to take the clear-bra off due to the probable line that has fromed against it and the possible discoloration under it, have i really saved myself anything?

The film shouldn't be UV protected so your car should fade the same. The line may be a possibilty depending on how you took care of the paint. Removing it can be a chore though and somewhat expensive.
Black is definitely the color it is most obvious on (as you well know) but all the paint chips on my front bumper and hood of my last black car were alot more noticible. If you dont like washing your car twice a week then black is not the color for you. I personally would probably not get another black car. Jesse |

I have mine on that covers the front bumper, front side of the fenders, lights and mirror caps. It has saved me from numerous rock chips, and is only noticeable up close. When its clean, you have to be on top of it to see it...

I have the BMW bra, but haven't put it on yet and plan to use it for longer interstate driving, not in the city. I've read some people compare a clear film to a bra and say they prefer the clear film. But if you're willing to just use the bra for trips and remove it afterwards, I would go with that instead of a film.
I had the bra on my previous car and it used to take me 5 minutes to put on, and 5 to take off - well worth the protection from gravel thrown up by 18 wheelers on interstates. |

A cloth/leather bra is the best way to scuff and scratch your nice paint job. I would never even think about useing a clip on bra, but to each thier own........

the tint shop in town that the bmw dealership uses quoted me $400 for a full front kit.. i can hardly imagine paying that, let alone over 1000.. that's just painful.

Yeah I also installed the 3M paint protector on my BM front bumper, bonnet and fenders. No regrets the line is noticeable probably more so because the car is black, It would imagine it to be more subtle on a lighter colour car. Ill post some pic tomorrow so you can see, It’s been on for about 1 year now
