Another Variation of Mr. 5 Intake
Hey all building my own mr 5. intake, using a K&N Apollo intake instead so I can keep the pod (enclosed) filter in the engine bay for easy maintenance and yet still get cold air from the brake duct.
Credit goes to tscdennab for coming up with the idea I am still in progress of building as I won't have time to do it everything during the week. Will need to post pics but so far I have drilled a hole on my stock airbox, mounted the intake mount and sealed it with silicone sealant. Also have moved the power steering pump using an injen bracket (Thanks Stu!). Here are the list of items that I am using to make the intake.
Hopefully will complete this on wednesday/thursday and will update the thread! *UPDATE* (27-05-2012) So I manage to install the whole thing but I completely forgot to take photos while doing the installation . First impression is that the car seems to pull harder! Induction noise is also still there but a little bit different compare to the DCI noise. I may want to change the aliminium tube between the 2 x 90 degree elbow to something shorter so it doesn't stick out so much. Last edited by RaihaX; 05-27-2012 at 01:44 AM.. |

Not sure if I need to remove my front bumper to route the hose down there though, seems pretty squashy... |
