Car alarm on the 1er

Anybody actually got the alarm installed by their dealership? My 135 is almost here and I asked my CA about it. He told me the alarm itself is 500 and then plus the 4 hour labour it's going to be close to 1000!! Just wondering what other people paid for theirs. Thanks.

IIRC, the alarm is for 250$, installation charges will vary by dealer. But 1000$ is a total RIP OFF !

There is a very good DIY to install the alarm, but you still need the dealer to program the system to turn it on. The thread also has soem examples of prices for install in the US ... see it here:

Yeah I can't help but thinking the dealership is out to rip me off on this. They told me just a month ago it was about 800, which I thought it was a rip off already. I don't know if I want to do it myself, the CA said if something goes wrong my warranty is void.

Nope. It only comes with immobilizer. I read that nothing under a 5 series comes with one.

Part of the installation in the DIY includes the Siren, which is not in the car from factory. So no alarm whatsoever until installed.
