Control arm offset bushing
Has anyone even thought about doing this over a M3 control arm upgrade for the lower arm?
Offset that bushing and you should be able to gain around 0.3-0.5 of static camber I think while increasing camber curve in turns. With someone who could fabricate these costs should be much lower, and more appealing than an M3 Upgrade. I'm thinking about going this route, purely because M3 arms are not legal in the SCCA Class I compete in, and this would be a legal modification. Any interest? |

Whiteline/Nolathane (ONLY CASTER CORRECTION , I swear they used to have camber too 1-2 years ago ) have offerings and SuperPro offers the same plus a reinforced control arm set. SuperPro ARM kits ALOY0005K & ALOY0005-95K ( RACE VERSION) SuperPro Bush only SPF3941K http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/spf3941k SuperPro can do custom tube inserts..http://www.superpro.com.au/bush-sizing UK's Powerflex may have one too at a higher price point.

Will probably order the SPF3941K and SPF3940K for camber and caster adjustment to max out. |

Caster from Whiteline/Nolathane may be cheaper (85A typically), search by part number. In general EnergySuspention carries alot of SuperPro kits for very nice prices.

Never dealt with SuperPro...thoughts on one over the other? Right now whiteline if it's 85A I'd go with that given SuperPro doesn't offer a comparable |

SuperPro seems to be higher quality anywhere I read up on them. They cost abit more too I've seen Nolathane fail on some old forums for some old fords. Subaru people use SuperPro a lot.

FYI most SuperPro busgings are actually 80A unless they are the motorosport, then the ##K really means it is the ##A value.
If you have doubts their customer service is great!! I was quite thrilled to learn they 90A two-pieace subframe bushings available, and these come with the Aluminum insert design!!

I know .... 'old thread' .... just checking to see if anyone ever actually used the Whiteline offset option? https://www.whiteline.com.au/product...=KCA431&sq=904
Establishing my 128i STX build recipe and I KNOW I'm gonna need the additional camber the offset bushing provides. I'll touch base with john v to see if he is still manufacturing limited runs too, but curious if anyone has direct experience with the Whitelines. |

right, if you use adjustable camber arms up front (no one really does) then camber plates are not legal nor are any other camber mods. But if you used adjustable camber arms you wouldn't need to add camber from anywhere else lol

Is it strictly adjustable camber arms? Or would swapping to the M3/1M arms also count as modified?

I think technically that would be a street prepared mod. The argument could be made that they are equivalent to adjustable camber arms and STX legal but you would really need to talk to someone more informed lol

Thanks....I'll be utilizing camber plates for sure AND an offset bushing (as a combo this is kosher for STX), striving for ~3.5 camber. For STX it's plates OR adjustable arms, not both.
Still looking for specific feedback on the Whiteline offset bushing. I've seen the video showing (I think Superpro offset) issues, wondering if I'm looking at the same potential and should just go to full custom bushing from the get go.

ANYWAYS.... I was able to achieve like 3.2-3.3 IIRC with just camber plates at my ride height. I did install superpro offset bushings at one time, but they slipped. Really, if you're going to go this route make sure you have a way to pin the bushings. The offset (which looks identical to Whitelines offering) just appears to rely on clamping force to secure the bushing isn't enough. Take my word on it. Also, if you're going STX setup achieve for -4+ of camber. You need it. |

One of two who I was hoping would chime in - THANK YOU!
Not sure how -4 is gonna be accomplished, but I'll work toward it. Cheers.
