I live in Manhattan and opted not to have ZSP in my E90. When I move out of the city though, I will certainly order my next one(a 2007) WITH ZSP. I LOVE the Seats and the Wheel.
You made the right choice. How many windy roads do you have up there in the Bronx anyway!?!?!? |

You are in the market for SPORT luxury sedan, and you care about having slightly more firmer suspension? for christ's sake, its not like ZSP firmness vs Non-ZSP firmness is day and night difference. (that would've been awesome. for us ZSP lovers) somebody answer me. btw, ZSP or not, its a same car. Some people even prefer non ZSP seats. Wheels can always be upgraded. I don't see why you are worried AT ALL. ZSP is not some kind of magic option that gives you whole new different E90.

I think the car is sporty enough as it is. It handles better than pretty much all of its competitors. The ZPP is for those who drive their car very hard a lot. Otherwise, you cant really tell the diff. in the way it handles. THat being said, even though I kinda wished I got the ZPP, im doing great without it. |

I think my car is the sexiest thing in the world, the only concern I have is the honda s2000, infinity g35 and nissan 350z. I wish I could bit the shit out of any of those and I would be in wonderlad for the rest of my days. Which makes me wonder if I will modify the engine as soon as upgrades become available, which leads me to think if it would void the warranty.

Don't worry about it ... it's true that ZSP makes the e90 edgier but the standard suspension ain't no slouch either... these are just waiting/pre-delivery jitters, almost everyone here has gone through it in varying degrees ... trust me, when you finally take delivery, you're gonna love the car

Coming from a TL you'll have nothing to worry about, even with standard suspension the 3 will have less body roll and go where you tell it to go.

I love the ZSP for the handling and 162's but I drove my 50 year old parents around in my car and my dad commented on how smooth the ride was. He's had several bimmers in his life too. Anyway, my point is don't worry so much about it. If you like ZSP but think it may be too stiff, you're wrong. Just get it. Makes the car look much better (lower ride height, sports seats and 162's) in my opinion.

You say you can't really tell with ZSP, then you say ZSP is for those who drive their car very hard alot. Thats not correct at all. ZSP is for those who simply crave more performance from already-work-of-an-art E90's suspension. You don't have to be hard core handling master to get ZSP, perhaps, track/auto-x freaks will upgrade to even more firmer suspension than ZSP. If you say difference is minimal.. than why are all these non-ZSP owners complaining about how they can feel "every rock on the road"? It just doesn't make sense. To me, they are trying to justify why they didn't get the ZSP. or maybe regretting for not getting it and trying to make themselves feel better. Now, this whole thing does NOT apply to those who just feels ZSP is not necessary. It only applies to those people complaining how ZSP is stiff, blah blah blah. Obviously haven't driven a real stiff car. If you want comfy cruiser ride, Im telling you, Kia Optima is for you. that car floats on the road.

I had the A4 without the sport package and that car floated like a Caddy-very comfy but not much in terms of sporty.
So for the e90 I had to get the sport package-and I did. I live in Montreal, and can say with much certainty that there are no wrose roads in an urban setting anywhere else in the Western world !!! And i am in fact surprised at the degree of comfort of the sports suspension. It is is stiff, but not uncomfortable. The real issue are the wheels - given our moon crater roads, I already shredded one tire, and going over potholes with 17in mags (I have the 325) can be jarring because of the low profile tires. As well, given that wheel travel is less with the sports suspension, if the roads are really horrid where you live, the car is likely to bottom out more often than with a standard suspension. That said, I have had that happen to me once (that's when I shredded my tire). I would / will get sports package again since the car handles like a dream with it-like a mini, on rails. The seats are amazingly confortable and supportive and yes I love the sports steering wheel. |

My previous BMW an E$^ 328 had the SP. For me it was way too hard, plus it tramlined on poor roads. I have had 3 Mercs since but have been lured back to BMW with an E91 330D, non SP. It is a FANTASTIC car and much more comfortable & compliant than any SP car. If you want a hard ride buy an M3.
