DCT shifting from 1st to 2nd on it's own

I have been looking around the forums for people that have experienced the same issue but can't quite seem to find anyone talking about it. I have a 2012 135i with around 60k miles and the DCT. Recently, within the last week, whenever I got WOT in 1st gear in manual mode it automatically short shifts into 2nd anywhere from 3-5k RPMs. My car doesn't have DTC or DSC on as there is an issue with the steering angle sensor whenever it's cold. The car is also on a MHD Stage 1 tune. Other than that everything else seems okay with the transmission. I assume it's probably the transmission saving itself from getting blown up but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows what might be causing it. Thanks in advance!

I've had the same issue with the 1-2 shift on occasion, stock and tuned. Hasn't happened in a while and unfortunately I can't say what causes it. As I recall it's happened both stock and tuned.

About how long was it an issue? And what tune? Thanks for responding!

I couldn't say, it happened rarely and as far as I remember on Cobb, stock, and maybe MHD.

I did confound the DSC system at one point after running the car off track and ruining the rear alignment during the recovery (don't forget your tow hook). Until I fixed the damage my DCT was doing this consistently.

They may be it because my rear tires are scrubbing a bit because of the new wheels I have. I was going to fix it next week so I guess we will see then.

My car does that when the wheels are spinning even with traction control fully off... I bet the steering angle sensor is confusing the system and causing it.

The thing is that it's only just started doing it and the sensor has been messed up for a few months. I'll update once I figure out if it's the wheels causing the issue or the sensor.
