Oklahoma members...who's out there?
I thought since the other states of the regions are grouping up, we should too!!! Sign in. There will be so few of these cars in the state that we should maybe get together or something when more of us have cars

checking in!
well, i bring some good news (at least for me).. i went to Jackie Cooper Saturday to get an update on the car delivery, and they told me that there was a order cancellation in front of mine. They said it bumped my order up and it is a good chance i will recieve my car in July! ...man this beats October by a long shot! they told me i'm somewhere around #3 on the list. Once again lets throw out what car we'll be profiling, mine is Saphire Black on black. I'm so ready to cruise when i get the car. the bmw club usually meets up occasionally on thurs nights at Sonic on NW Expressway.. when we get our cars, we'll have to meet up over there. |

We gotta meet up...besides, I want to check out your active steering. It's one of only two options I didn't get as I was a bit too chicken to order it.

Here! Enjoying the drive every day. I'm in for a meet. I've got several parts on order; aluminum pedals, H8 7,500 bulbs, and other unmentionables. Thought I'd throw in a pick of the stable...

Still haven't seen your Sooner/Hog Red 135i in Tulsa yet. But I did see a Sedona Red 128i on the Creek Nation today on the way home. Honked at the driver a few times to offer a thumbs up. But he kept his eyes forward. He got off at the backed up Jenks exit. Maybe you will run into that gent and invite him to the site. |

Yesterday, I passed a new Blue M3 on Yale. Pulled up next to him and give the 'ole thumbs up. He was older, i.e. has the bank account, and was a little confused by my gester. He then realized I was driving a BMW that he didn't recognize. He followed me and kept looking at the car seemingly trying to figure out what the heck it was. Little does he know, in a few short months, my little "M1" will be as quick as his. I will say, the quad pipes and the wide tires REALLY set the new M3 apart. We've got to figure a way to get that look on the 135i.

you doing the dinan flash since BMW of Tulsa is the only Dinan dealer in Oklahoma? BTW, my stable will be very similar to yours.

I'm not sure about Dinan. Yes the tune is top notch but the whole warranty thing is something of a misnomer. Read it CAREFULLY. Dinan has "outs" they will excercise. Plus, at this point in time, I don't want to be beholden to one tune. Over time, the tunes will be become better, especially as the bolt-ons become more prevalent. This all adds up to the "value" arguement against Dinan. Dinan has already had 2 years to create a package for the N54 and they haven't done all that much. Lastly, my whole interest in hot-rodding cars is modifying the car myself with available parts to make it run better than the high dollar tuners. Learn from their designs, but make it better. That's what makes me feel good about my cars. Actually, my target is to run with my buddies modified 2007 GT500. I've driven it several times, and it does bring back memories of all my Camaros. BUT, Even with 540hp, it doesn't feel that fast. I could be wrong, but I think I can make the 135i run as fast with the right mods. Even if I go with Dinan, it will be because Dinan makes the commitement to the car with the proper value add.

I don't know your last name so I couldn't tell where you were on the order list. I was moved to the top of the list and my car began production this morning.

Misplaced Oklahoman here, born in Woodward, spent most of my life in Ponca Shitty, woops, City...
I've spent a few nights at that Sonic on NW Expressway, lol, back in the day, also quite a few nights on Memorial in Tulsa. The good'ole days, I miss them. I still pass through Tulsa to go home 2-3 times a year... Grat's on the cars, I'm thinking about going back to school, so I'll probably just keep my ZHP, anyhow, thought I'd say hi, I miss Oklahoma... Oh, almost forgot, my ZHP came from Classic BMW in DFW, actually from their old location, easiest vehicle purchase I ever made, bought her over the phone. I was already out here, but thought I'd throw that in too...

ahh your never too old to hang out man, but anywho either there or another idea we could always meet up on a Saturday/Sunday autocross event at Sherriff's Training Facility track.. just an idea, for later on events (OKC, SE36th & Air Depot) either to watch and/or participate.
I dont know who all "has" or "has not" been to an autox before, but from my experience it allows for a driver to "become one with the car" LOL. Seriously though, its a great place to practice your driving abilities etc.. Good friend of mine is the coordinator of the autox events. Everything is professionally set up. here's a cut/paste of some info pertaining to BMW club dates... (separate from the Porsche club and Vette club dates) ------------------- OKS / BMW CLUB AUTO-X dates. 2008 Dates: * April 19th * May 10th * June 14th * July 12th * August 9th * Sept 13th * October 18th Cost is $20. MWC police training grounds 36th and air depot. |

I love that place!!! I would definitely be interested in going to some of those. I have been a few times with the PCA. Is you friend organizing these Mr. Teague? Is there really one scheduled for Monday, April 14th?

I'll be in Mexico next Saturday so I can't make that one. Don't know if this is a sign or not, but this is my 135th post on the forum. My car gets completed Tuesday, April 15th. I just went by Jackie Cooper and they have a Jet Black/terra/grey poplar that's pretty sweet. I sure hope I like the glacier aluminum :iono:
I might see if I can go to the May 10th event. Do they have loaner helmets? Don't know if I will run. I might just bring my daughter and hang out. I'm glad there are saturday events!!!

Stopped by the Tulsa dealer today. They have rag tops running out there ears. They had one 135i in metal flake black loaded up pretty well. I was going to test drive it. Had comfort access in hand. Then I saw the autofreakingjustruninedthecarmatic.
I did set in it. Very nice indeed. And it started right up. Got pup-tent. The sun roof really needs to go. I had to adjust on the seat alot to get a smig of head room. |
