what is best and why?
Hi all, I have a 2017 1 series with the pro nav, running nbt evo.
I would like to have waze, youtube music etc on the main screen. From what I can see, my options are.... 1. code in auto android 2. MMI box 3. Android screen. I am leaning towards options 2 or 3 over the coding route at the moment, Unless coding is the best option without any drawbacks/problems? As I have the larger screen already, is it worth having the android screen? Does the mmi box do all the same as the android screen? what are the + and - of each please? I know there are quite a few questions here, and I would be very grateful for any help. Many thanks Last edited by Bad-Alias; 05-17-2022 at 03:27 PM.. Reason: added info (coding) |

as far as i know, you can't code in AA. Only carplay if your HU has wlan port.
I went mmi box route for carplay and use nothing but waze for my nav and could not be any happier. android screen is nice but from what i've read, the audio is kinda sh!t but you'll get a bigger screen (10.25/12.3) over the standard oem 6.5/8.8, so that's a big selling point for many buyers. it's basically a personal preference. i wanted mine to be as oem as possible, so mmi was right choice for me but you may want the larger screen, so droid route is way to go. |

I have a Carnavi unit on my car with wired android auto and wireless Car Play and so far the interface and look is pretty good, but as mentioned the audio is not great... sometimes I get a low buzzing sound even if nothing is being played on bluetooth very low noise you can pretty much only notice it with the engine off in the garage... radio works fine no issues. I am not really an audio guy so it does not really bother me at all, the headers and exhaust cover everything
