Cannot Read Fault Codes

I bought a ELM 327 and it seems to work fine with the torque app, however I cannot read any codes. I believe my cars water pump has shit the bed so there should be codes to read but the app says there aren't any.

I tried another app and same thing.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Try a more BMW focused app, sometimes those generic ones can't read some of the modules/codes.

MHD, Carly, or ProTools by Bimmergeeks seem to be the usual go-to's.

Carly now only works with their dongle. Protool did not work either. I'll try mhd.
