Wow thanks for all the replies.
I was hoping I was wrong about this car. It's a beautiful car and would of been a blast to drive. I will have to keep looking to see what else is out there. I love cars to much to drive something boring. Being a baller on a budget lol. I need something fun and reliable, which usually doesn't come in one package. |

A higher mileage, much modified, turbo car, is just asking for trouble if you want it as a daily driver. Great for a fun weekender, but not as a daily.

I hear you. Just plan on dropping some coin like the others have said. I bought my 08 135 with 74k last year and have done as many repairs as I can myself. I've also paid my Indy a tidy sum for some of the more complicated repairs/upgrades.
But holy shit this car goes like stink and sounds amazing doing it! |

I'd be cautious when looking at German cars with around 100k miles, +-15k. When you're in the lower miles, you'll still have teething issues (water pump, gaskets, etc.). When you're in the higher miles, you'll have simple mechanical wear (wheel bearings, suspension bushings) and the occasional gasket failure and whatnot. My 128i has 178k miles (really 177,850) and is running like a champ. Totally un-phased by its age.
For a daily, I'd look at a 128i. Sure, it's less power, but it's also less cost (short and long term), and less likely to overshadow your real project car, the RX7. I think the 128i would be more fun to daily as well, less power means you can beat the crap out of it without causing too much trouble for yourself (compared to an FBO 400+hp 135i). Obviously, it's up to you... Esteban mentioned a GTI. I can attest to the fun factor of the Mk7, my dad as one. Super fast, super capable, very practical, and SCARY efficient (like 40mpg in DC traffic). Very good fun daily, too.
