You might want to read the article again:

Don't be hater!! At least, he is doing something! It is easy to sit on your @ss while drinking your beer, and pre-judge what you see without having no clue of the final product.

I am not affiliated with AC Schnitzer, just can't stand analytically challenged remarks. Be patient ID10Ts.

+1000 Don't get it either. Why would anybody pay a lot of cash to make a beautiful car look so ugly! (same with the Kelner 1M )

Honestly? If they had a clue what they were doing, wouldn't you see a wind-tunnel pic somewhere? The 1M is one of the few cars, that produces downforce on the front wheels. And you can feel that, i.e. driving the Nordschleife where you have ultra-fast corners that you usually catch understeer in at some point. So how much sense does it make to give that up for some bits and pieces of CF crap that will do whatever they do? And the really interesting part is: you as the owner get to find out what they do. Maybe they cause lift, maybe they don't. Maybe they'll throw the cars entire aerodynamic balance off, maybe you're lucky. Nope, not an experiment I'd be willing to pay a single Euro for! Surely not. No matter what the final product LOOKS like! And that's not an ACS specific problem it goes for all the clay fiddling "experts". If someone copies a race aero, that has been wind tunnel tested by whoever made the original. Stuff like this can make a car handle like a bag of marbles. Provided of course a car is really driven and doesn't just roll up and down main street trying to impress.

Thats exactly what I've been saying. AC Shitzer and some of these other tuners are turning these cars into alien spacecraft instead building good looking cars.

Unless a flat under body panel is going to be a part of that kit (which I highly doubt) the only thing it will end up doing is trapping more air than the OEM version.

If BMW truly makes this car in these limited numbers how many of these add on bits is AC going to sell? Although I don't like what I see here so far I'm glad to see any company giving the 1M some attention.

I guess if it's stuck to the rear bumper it's now a diffuser....

Their stuff used to look subtle and classy, now it's like they're just going for shock value.

These are all cosmetics, they are not claiming to build the best aero CF piece. Can't you see this?

What exactly should I be seeing? You do realize, that they are also adressing markets where cars don't just roll around at parking speeds but are driven, right? Do you have any idea what "cosmetics" can do to a car at 250km/h? Do you believe it won't change the airflow simply because you lable it "cosmetics"? Have you ever experienced aerodynamically induced understeer at 250+ km/h? I seriously doubt it.

I have looked at so... many AC products over the past few years for e46 M3's, for e90 330i's, and e82 135i and now the 1///M.With that said I find myself just getting more and more disappointed. How could a company with such a history in racing and with BMW go down such a horrible looking path?!? Those pipes forever KILL me... they are so horrible looking and just look cheap and not meant for BMW styling, I feel AC should start styling for Audi or Benz instead. Take your glitzy aftermarket parts else where, we do not want any of it!

What happened to classy not over done styling?!?
Having a car AC Schnitzered is liking taking a somewhat attractive older woman, and having her go through a bunch of plastic surgery:
plumped lips, scary face lift face, the lack of expression from Botox, and a set of tits and an ass that'll turn you away before ever luring you closer. Just a complete mess.

But to each their own

What most people don't realize "AC Schnitzer" is not identical to the "Schnitzer Motorsport" people. AC Schnitzer is owned by a company in Aachen (Kohl group). Schnitzer Motorsport does exactly that and nothing else. They race BMWs for BMW. Even though they may share a name, one should not confuse the two.

I don't think any aftermarket tuner can make the 1M look better than it does from the factory. BMW really nailed this one on the head. ACS is another perfect example of how wrong the design can go.

IMO, besides a slight drop and exhaust/tune, I wouldn't change a thing.

Sorry, OT: @njw - nice Ducati! It's not an original "Senna", is it?

..I wish I had the money to buy out ACS and liquidate it so I and others never have to see their designs destroy beauty ever again...
