Just how bad is it to drive the car during summer (temporarily) on winter tires?

I'm in a bit of a weird situation where my car has winter wheels on it right now, I will be storing it for awhile, then taking it back out during the middle of summer with the winter tires still on it. I will need to do a drive of at least a few hours (highway drive) from where I am storing it until I can put my summer tires back on.

I know driving with summer tires in winter is super bad, but will the opposite be safe enough to get by for a highway drive? I know the tires will wear faster, but just how much faster? Also should I adjust the recommended tire pressure at all?

You’ll be fine. They just wear faster and are less safe as they’ll be squishy/slippery. It’s not like they’ll melt under you in a drive. Nothing dangerous. Don’t sweat it, nothing out of the ordinary.

Of course. We all drive our winter tires on clean roads most of the time anyway . . .
