My 2011 135i Order Timeline
I recently placed an order for a 135i and wanted to keep a running journal of the build status. Here is the car I ordered:
2011 BMW 135i 6MT
October 28th, 2010: The waiting begins! My order has been placed and a production number was received. Owner's Circle Status = On Order. BMW NA reports the car as scheduled for production with no scheduled production date. November 6th, 20110: Car is scheduled for production the week of 11/15 to 11/19. November 8th, 2010: BMW NA reports that the car is currently in production. Looks like my order got bumped up! November 9th, 2010: My dealer emailed me my updated build order with a VIN assigned to my car. BMW NA is now reporting the estimated completion date is 11/16. November 13th, 2010: BMW NA has updated the completion date to 11/15. November 15th, 2010: My CA reports that the car is in final assembly and should be completed soon! November 16th, 2010: BMW NA reports that the car is built and is in transit to the Port of Bremerhaven. November 18th, 2010: My CA reports that my car is at Bremerhaven waiting to be assigned to a ship. I'm hoping this happens within the next few days, as Wallenius & Wilhelmsen and Eukor both have 5 to 6 ships scheduled to arrive in Bremerhaven over the next week. November 26th, 2010: The car has been loaded onto the Patriot, which departed Bremerhaven on the 25th. She's scheduled to arrive and depart Southamton on the 27th, and from there it's straight to Baltimore, hopefully arriving on schedule on December 7th. The Patriot en route to Southampton: November 27th, 2010: The Patriot has departed Southampton. Next stop is Baltimore! November 30th, 2010: www.sailwx.info has finally received a tracking update from the Patriot, she looks to be almost halfway to Newfoundland, but still a really long way until Baltimore. December 2nd, 2010: The Patriot continues it's journey across the Atlantic, and it looks like she's starting to head south towards the eastern shore. December 4th, 2010: Looks like the Patriot is just off the coast of Halifax, Nova Scotia. She must be just out of range, because MarineTraffic.com still doesn't pick her up. December 6th, 2010: We're ahead of schedule The Patriot is headed into the harbor and is expected to dock in Baltimore later tonight! December 7th, 2010: Patriot has docked in Baltimore! December 20th, 2010: Well, after what seemed like an eternity at VPC and in transit to Pittsburgh, my car ended up arriving at my dealership on Friday the 17th. Exactly 1 month from the day it was completed at the factory in Leipzig! Unfortunately due to the holidays and service being closed on Saturday, I wasn't able to take delivery. I'll be picking the car up this Thursday the 23rd, just in time for Christmas. Last edited by Thaddy; 12-20-2010 at 02:17 PM.. |

Updated timeline and some exciting news. Last Saturday my dealer called to say my car had a production date set to 11/15 to 11/19. I was pretty bummed out, considering that's a full three weeks after submitting the build! I decided to call BMW NA this morning and they said that the car was actually set to production. The woman on the phone didn't see it was scheduled for next week, so it sounds like it might have been bumped up a week!

After spending a few weeks visiting dealerships and configuring hundreds of 135i's on BMWUsa.com I couldn't find a better color combination than Alpine White and Coral Red. Enjoy your car, I'm hoping mine is an early Christmas present

Mine is also in final assembly. I found that the ship Rockies Highway is expected to arrive in port tomorrow. Maybe we'll get lucky and catch a ride on it in the next few days.

I'm hoping by now the roundel is being placed on my hood. That's good news about the Rockies Highway, my fingers are crossed!
Edit: Actually, looking at the vessel schedule posted on W&W's website, there are three more ships that could potentially ship my car to the Port of Baltimore: Departing 11/24 - Patriot Departing 11/25 - Texas Departing 11/26 - Tristan Last edited by Thaddy; 11-15-2010 at 08:26 PM.. |

Update: The car is complete and is in transit to Bremerhaven!
I have been tracking the Rockies Highway and right now it's being loaded up. Here's a screen shot I grabbed. I doubt this is my ship since my car is still in transit, but it's fun to track. Last edited by Thaddy; 11-16-2010 at 11:19 AM.. |

Mine was released to carrier as of this morning. Have you found the itinerary for the Rockies Highway?
To dock at Charleston I'll have to be on: Tortugas: Nov 19 Patriot: Nov 24 Fidelio: Dec 1 Like you and everyone else, I'm not going to be a fan of sitting at port for a long period of time. |

I haven't been able to find any information on Rockies Highway. I don't think it's operated by W&W, possibly a contracted boat? The three ships that will be heading to the Baltimore port are the Texas, Patriot, and Tristan. According to the Vessel Schedule, all three are scheduled to depart Bremerhaven on the 25th and 26th of November, so the chances of our cars making one of those boats are pretty good I'd say.

Looks like another Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship has arrived in port. Here is the Rockies Highway docked next to the Don Quijote. No word yet on what ship my car has been assigned.

Don't hold your breath; mine sat at the port awaiting a ship for two weeks. See my post about having "the awaiting a shipping vessel blues". I hope yours goes faster!

According to my CA, my car is slated to be put on a truck tomorrow & shipped up to the dealership, with an ETA of 22-23 Nov. The wait has not gotten any easier, but it particularly sucked to know it was just sitting there at port for two weeks. At least now I know it's at the Prep. Center getting suspension & exhaust installed, so there's a good reason for the delay.
This forum is a good "support group" for those of us waiting.

Do you know what port your car is being shipped to? There's a good chance we could see our cars being loaded up this week. Three ships are departing Bremerhaven in a few days

My PCD date is the first of January, so I've got an even longer wait. Thaddy, I do hope you're right. We have to be on one of those. I have to wait til Jan, but I want it at the center so I don't have to worry where it is anymore |

I was very happy this morning to see that the Patriot has arrived in Bremerhaven and has docked in the Osthafen! It also looks like the Tristan is preparing to dock as well. I'm really hoping my car gets on one of these ships. The Texas (another W&W ship) is scheduled to leave Bremerhaven tomorrow as well, however, I'm not sure where she's located right now.

Waiting too!
Thaddy, Thanks for the detailed posts on your order timeline. I ordered the exact same configuration except Space Grey and Grey Poplar trim on 11/3. On 11/22 BMW NA reported the car in transit to the port. That is still the status today. I am hoping to get on one of the three ships leaving this week!
