Tee Mod vs Pull Plug

I know this is an old subject but I'm an old guy. Instead of pulling the hose or attaching a zip tie can I unplug something inside of the rear light housing to keep the exhaust flap open? Forgot to mention this is for a 2012 135i.

You can even do it under the hood if ya want.

But for in-trunk, the controller is actually back there, just need to pull the liner a bit so you can access it- clicky-clicky

Thank you for your response. I could not id the connector in the trunk. All the connectors went to the rear lights. Maybe it is under one of the panels. For now I have put on a tie and that should be enough for my purpose.

Driver side rear quarter panel near the back of the wheel arch. You have to take out the trunk bottom liner, plastic trunk edge at rear then you can remove the quarter panel. Take maybe 10 min once you know what you are doing.

I unplugged then replugged it b/c it was a bit droney driving in Vegas traffic. I may go back and try it again now that I moved out of Lost Wages, NV.

Thank you for the information. I will work on that. I do hate removing liners etc because they never seem to go back to their original tight fitting. Tks again.
