I tracked down my old 135 on autotrader (searching for VIN) a few weeks after turning it in and found it was out in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I happened to be going on vacation 15 miles from there so I went and visited it while on my trip.
It's a little sad because I liked the car, the color combo and the way it drives. Plus I already paid for the car so I figured why not get the miles out of it. I would've bought it if I could've gotten a good deal but the residual was too high. It was my first BMW and it really lived up to my expectations for what the car should be. They'll probably sell it to someone else for less than they would've sold it to me. Since the cars are so similar, there's not the excitement of getting something totally new.

That being said, brand new is still brand new and it'll be fun breaking it in. I must admit that on the drive home, I could tell that the brand new 135is felt tighter and quieter than the 3 year old car which is natural. The audio/nav is improved and those pedals look cool. I have to go easy for the break-in miles and then find out what that extra 20hp can do!

Looks good! All stock? Love to see a picture of the trunk closer-up.

Looking good! We need more lemanses! =P

Glad you finally got her home though after the long wait and then the scratch issue. So, what do you think of it so far?

Worra - a close up of the trunk? Why? Guess you're an assman. Ha!

Yes. Yes I am.

In addition to that, I'm wondering about future trunk mods (lip or just new trunk lid) and I want to see how far top of the stock trunk extends.

Page 40 of this thread has some good rear end shots of BP's car in case you haven't seen those. They might not be as close up or at the right angle since he was trying to get the full back end and diffuser, but might help.

Thanks Gator. The tint was thrown in to help make amends for the delay in delivery.

To answer a question from another forum member ... Yes, it is 100% stock LMB 135is (tint added at dealership). The pick was taken about 3/4 of a mile away from the dealers lot.

Greg was correct, it is 35% VLT. In Texas front side windows are limited to 25%VLT, and you can go as dark as you want on the rear sides and back window (if you have side mounted rear view mirrors on both sides). It is common here to see rear windows and rear side windows darker than the front side windows, but I requested that all windows be tinted the same.

Yaaaa! Do I win a prize? 35% I think is perfect on these guys. I also think it looks awful when people have different shade tints on the front and rear side windows. Luckily, we don't have to worry about that. Sometimes going one darker on the back window isn't that bad.

I also did my windshield in a special 80% film that has incredibly heat rejection but was uber expensive ($200 just for windshield).

Today the new car met the old car. Very bittersweet but exciting at the same time. I'll post some more pictures tomorrow.

Someone tried to convince me that the 135is has synthesized sound similar to the M135i. Has anyone heard of this? I am almost 100% certain it does not.

I think the exhaust note comes from the tune, but what BMW modeled it from is a mystery to me? maybe a 65 Pontiac GTO?

Here is a pic of my rubber band console mod because the lid won't stay shut. After my swcond trip to the dealer today I was told they have to order the part from Germany. The good news it I got more road time in my car

Look in your trunk for the synthesizer. I can't find one. Could be wrong.

Nice "racing stripe!" It also doubles as a cell phone holder, no?
