Installed OEM e93 front sway bar (28mm)
This upgrade is highly suggested for those wanting to greatly reduce or eliminate the body roll in their 135. I simply couldn't feel any roll when pushing it yesterday in the twisting hills above Portland, but the pessimist in me says it can't be gone completely. Can it? The car stayed nice and flat with a neutral feel. This is how a sport pkg 1 should feel in my opinion.
In addition to the bars, you'll need the e93 brackets and bushings. The bushings are much harder than our stock ones and the brackets seem to be made of aluminum. Install only takes about an hour using basic handtools. I used the DIY from larryn as a guide, but I chose not to remove the wheels and drove the car onto rhino ramps instead of using a jack/stands. Do it, you won't regret it.

Spent $250 for everything. I'm on stock suspension other than the sway with Dunlop Star Spec tires.

Good to hear! I was pining over the decision of which m3 bar to install. I was hoping to dial out the roll, so it sounds like it should be great. I ordered the e93 bar, and now I'm just waiting for an opportunity to install. Can't wait to put it on.

So how much roll does this actually dial out with just a 1.5mm difference?
Also, I noticed the end links have different part numbers going from the e82 135 to the e93 M3. Did you just re-use your end links? |

Trust me you will still want the sway bar. It is the absolute best upgrade bang for buck for the 135i's body roll. I would do the KW's second.

That I know. Now can you answer my question about how much body roll the new bar dials out? Obviously, that will be a guess-timation but I still would like to hear it.

I would say with the Hotchkis at least 55-65%...don't know about the OEM M3 bar though (arent they very similar?).

Sorry for the delay... I'd say this dialed out almost all the body roll for me. I know the harder rubber OEM bushings help in addition to the thicker, non-kinked bar. It just feels great now coupled with my performance tires. It doesn feel tall and just squats flat through a turn.
I didn't upgrade anything else aside from the bar, bushings and alum brackets. I plan to buy the other M3 pieces in the spring to add a bit more neg camber.

It is really hard to say. I dont have pictures or anything. I know it feels tighter. When we have our next autocross I hope to jump from car to car and see the difference. I hope your not looking for an exact number, because I doubt the companies that sell these sways could even tell you exactly that. your best way to go is either find someone who has one and take a ride or buy it yourself for 200$.

I understand where you are coming from and I know you cannot assign a number to hence the last sentence of my statement.
I suppose another way to ask this question is if this low-cost option is comparable to the aftermarket bars out there by H&R, Hotchis, etc...? |

I just installed a UUC front bar last weekend and the difference it quite noticeable. The car is much more responsive and predictable now. Definitely a must-have!

Is the bolded part just a typo or are you running the 26.5mm front bar from an e92 M3? If so, how did that compare to the stock 135 front bar?

That is not a typo. It is the exact same bar, except without a kink. it probably saved them money somehow to have the same width and then induce kinks for the lesser cars than the M3. The bushings that come with it are definetly stiffer and have a locking mechanism, kinda cool.
