128i AA tune

Assuming the 128i has a 0-60 of 5.8 secs, what would that become after getting a stock 128i just the AA tune?

First post, sorry if I'm asking a question that has been answered elsewhere but i couldn't find it.

It adds quite a bit of power if you add on the 3 stg intake manifold (that's what the 330i comes with, and N51 engines also have it stock). You might be able to knock half a second off?

Depends. Depends on the car and the driver, there is no definative answer without you testing it yourself.

Thank you for your extremely unnecessary answer. I'm not interested in buying a 135i or else I would have said 135i not 128i nor would i have been in the 128i section. Instead I asked a very specific question.

128i vs 128i w/AA tune

that is all

Anyone's answer would simply be just a guess. The AA Tune alone only adds a few hp. I don't expect more than .1s improvement. As others have mentioned, the AA tune along with the 3 stage intake manifold should add about 30hp at the crank and would improve acceleration in a measurable way. Maybe something like .3s, hard to say.

probably the only way to get a true result is to test in as close to identical conditions possible before and after the tune.

i did the AA tune in march, along with a k&n drop-in/charcoal delete and added aFe scoops. recently i upgraded to eurotek lm reps, 18x8.5/9.5 with 225/255 tires. each wheel/tire combo is several pounds lighter that the stock 17x7/7.5 sport pkg rims my car came with. i would be my acceleration is even greater with the other mods and new/lighter wheels.

but its not a tire-burner. my nephew has a mazda 3 "speed" with upgraded software and new turbo. great in a straight line, but cant use that power to turn. i wanted a car that can turn, too!

You're not going to get much with the AA flash...maybe 10-12 hp. It does remove the rev and top speed limits, and improve vanos performance, but you'll barely feel it. With the Stage 3 intake (and AA headers), it's a completely different story...you will want to take it to the redline on every shift...you'll go looking for 135's, LOL...

I am always surprisedat the eagerness to rev since I've added headers.

hahaha, with the 3stg manifold, the car will feel like a 335i/135i at the lower revs, driving around the street, even driving them back to back

Glad to hear. I saw that the stage 3 manifold cost around 1300 but whats the labor going to be on that?

You can buy them used from a salvage yard for a few hundred. If you are mechanically inclined you could do the install. Search the DIY forum and this forum, lots of people have done this.

A shop would charge probably 3 or 4 hours tops.

Depends on how good of a driver you are, traction and some luck .

One thing is for sure, the AA flash will make your car noticeably faster

It's broke, time to crush it and start over.

I would recommend getting an OBD2 tool that can read the codes. The codes will give you and the forum a better feel of what is wrong and how to fix it.

If you bought it from a stealership, take it back and make them fix it or you will make sure to leave reviews about them.
