Keep this in mind, the g35 will be a far flashier car than the incognito 3 series. If you plan on driving more spiritly I suggest the 3. The G/Z are just way too flashy and attracts attention from everyone including the cop. I haven't had a ticket for 10 years and I got a Z rental last weekend. Guess what? Cop pulled me over for doing 75 in a 65 and ignored the Lexus and Bmw 5 series that were with me.
I am probably going to get a M3 next.. I like a sleeper better than one that screams look at me. |

and who says name isnt important??? it is important!! and this intagible refference of cars is very important... my uncle used to work in a car dealer, he says that 25% of customer's choice is related to commen sense (cars reliability, power, comfort, price, etc), the rest 75% is due to intagible reasons (name, dealer preference, status, etc..) i was shocked how far r the two numbers from eachother!!!

I feel you man. Good luck with that. I am going to try ticket assasin first since it's a fairly minor speeding ticket.

Hey, what do you know. I own both. The G35 is a great car; the current ones only faults (imo) are:
1) Cheap interior, even the newly re-designed ones. The '07/'08 model should be much better. 2) Poor gas mileage. The VQ is a great engine, but no direct injection, etc.. = 15/20 if you're lucky. 3) No AWD in the coupe. 4) The chassis/suspension, while probably second best in the class, is still not as good as BMW. Obviously the exterior styling is good, the interior will be much imporved, the engine will be more powerful in '07/'08 (and is already very powerful), the chassis dynamics are probably as close as the Japanese have come to BMW, it's less expensive than a BMW... and Infiniti *does* have a much better quality record (sorry guys, it's true). I've owned two G35's for a total of over 150k miles which nary an issue to report. Bottom line, it's a value leader for a reason. Great engine, good quality, great style. The BMW's advantage is all in the driving. Try as they might Infiniti still can't duplicate the road feel of a BMW, the BMW has less body roll, better steering feel, better response in the twisties... It also has 4 years maintenance, better re-sale (though the G35's resale is good), and a status factor (can't be denied). The engine, while less powerful, is also smoother. My next car will likely be another BMW unless the '07/'08 G35 really shocks me (it might, who knows?). However I can say without hesitation that my number #2 pick would be another G35. They're the two best cars in the class, imo. |

Again must repeat what chewbaka said about not buying a Bugatti (if price did not matter) because it's still a VW. As for Germans be ahead of Japanese cars, i'd say depends on what you're looking at. Reliability japanese cars wins, performance Germans win. Ideal super car: Reliability and comfort of japanese cars, performance of german engineering, the A/C of American cars, and the gas consumption of hybrids. ......... and then i woke up... haha
