Buying 135i, n55 HPFP issue?

Hey guys

Im picking up a 2010, MY11 135i this week (n55 DCT) was wondering if i have to worry about the HPFP before i buy it? did these models have the problem like the older 08/9 ones?

I appologise in advance, im sure its been answered 100 times. But just want to confirm!

Thanks in advance,

Chase <3

The 2011-2012 models had the HPFP resolved in most cases. There are still minor cases of the HPFP failing, but very few, unlike the 2008-2010 models. If you knew this was answered 100 times, why not just search...?

to be super honest? just laziness.

The car is still under new car warranty until like 2014, so if anything does go wrong it will be fixed right?

Thanks!

My HPFP failed like at 10k miles and I have an N55. Just buy it and let the warranty do its thing if you encounter any issues.

Even the 2008-2010 models are pretty well sorted since the recall. I specifically asked my dealer about this the other day and they confirmed that the failures are quite sparse at this point.

This is great news. Especially if true that the 2008-2010 models have been mainly dealt with by the recall. Was the major thing holding me back from purchasing one. Going to have to rethink my recent decision to just keep my current car...

I wish BMW would extend the same warranty as N54 to N55 cars as well.

Yes, they will fix it under warranty, so nothing to worry about. I'm on the same boat, my car is brand new and is under warranty until 2014 haha.

I had a 2009 135i and got caught-up in the HPFP frenzy. I did the most stupid thing I could have done and traded the 135i in for an Audi A5. The A5 is a good car, but not a 135i. My 2012 135i has arrived in New York and I should have it in 10 to 14 days. I will drive the car, love it and not worry about what may or may not go wrong with it.

I hear ya. No car I've owned has made me as happy as this one. I've owned ten cars and this is tops. Second place is still my GTI.

I have 2010 with about 17k miles. I had 2 failures before 7000 miles... Looks like the 3rd hpfp was the charm... no long cranks for the last 10k miles. But only time will tell how long it will last.

I have a 2010 as well and after my first failure at about 6k, it's been perfect. Now at just under 27k.

EXACTLY^^^^^^^^^^ Bought my 09 135i with 9000 miles on it. At 9200 miles on it the pump went on my 3rd drive..I went nutz and luckily BMW took care of me..Or i might of done the same thing...Now 2 years later and 22,000 on the car and it has started perfectly since. At this point the HPFP issue is much MUCH better and should not discourage anyone from buying the car. As a hobby i test drive cars and the 135i is more amazing the more cars i test drive.....the 1 is that good IMO as it is a balance of speed and agility and looks...i do not see many of them and the rarity is special...even if it's not a 1M, it's special...

Well hopefully you guys who are having good luck now is because of the new revised pump.

Doublevanpsrc I'm hoping your failure was because you were unlucky and got one of the few 2011s with the old pump. I really want to believe the issue is fixed.

I want one of these cars badly, but the idea of getting stranded somewhere does not sit well.
