Walnut Shell Blasting - Recommendation

I had my intake walnut shell blasted yesterday by Luther at Fleming Automotive in Crofton. I highly recommend his service. It was $430 with gaskets. He told me it would take a couple of hours, but I think I was out of there in less than two. Nice people, good work.

My 135i has about 60k on it, and the difference after is noticeable. Not night and day as some say, for me, but the fuel deliver is much smoother, I can feel that. Now on to install my Cobb V3.

His info:

Address: 1651 Crofton Blvd #11, Crofton, MD 21114

Like OP, I also had my 08 135i with 90k walnut blasted by Luther at Fleming Auto, overall experience was great. He took time to take me back to show me a before and after of my valves and how much gunk had built up. Great shop, great work and great prices. I too was told it would be a few hours, however I was in and out in about 2.5 hours including the oil filter gasket replacement. Highly recommend!

See if they'll reduce the price if you can get 2 cars to come, "group buy" lol. I'd definitely be interested.

Have either of you guys had the job done yet? I'm at 51K on my car and wondering when I should bite the bullet on this job. I read that the N55 isn't as bad as the N54, but I'm not sure what to make of that, as it isn't very specific. Wondering how ugly things were for you guys, as I'm in nearly the same boat.

Decided against it after several people said it was a waste on the N55. Might re-consider when I hit the 70k+ mark but for now I'll deal.

it is not a waste on the n55 engine. it is direct injected like the n54 and has the exact same problem we have done a few. the process is the same however it take a little longer to get the intake manifold off the expase the valves. call us if your interested in having this service done!!

Thanks
Luther
