The Klan was started soon after the War between the states by Confederate soldiers solely against blacks and their rise from slavery. Over the years others became targets of the klan like Jews, Catholics, foreigners who didnít fit into their moronic myopic agenda in this country but foremost as it was in the early days, black Americans accenting the success ladder was and remains the primary goal.
Republicans saw in the 60ís that the nearsighted civil rights act bills was chock full of hand grenades that would go off down the road. Welfare is but one thst horse collared many into sitting on their asses and collecting the scraps that the govt fed them. Why work or educate themselves is the govt will take care of us from cradle to grave. Only thing they need to do is keep voting the D line. Trump The dems werenít smart enough to see what they creating. Trump has started the reverse that mindset and more minorities are working now then ever before and fed assistance numbers are dropping. The masses have worked up and things they are a changing.

The southern slums and northern urban tenements of the early 20th century, things brought out by Upton Sinclair including yellow journalisms...nearsighted or farsighted the republican party of Eisenhower, Nixon and Reagan had no special agenda that improved the country, debt, Cold War rhetoric, AIDS, enemies list - no one boat will lead you to that magic place where one form of government is successful for the majority.

And the Republican Party took an ideological shift both in 1964-Civil Rights Act and in 1965-Voting Rights Act.
The real hard-left-turn was the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. The Left had lost the reasoned debate on socialism, so they re-directed the immigration pipeline from Europe and Canada, with their similar cultures and values, to drawing heavily from Latin America. This changed everything. Created a cultural upheaval that's still going strong today.

The Klan probably hated Jews, but in their heyday there weren't enough Jews on their home turf to be worth saddling up the horse and soaking rags in gas for. Their mission was to terrorize the African-Americans into submission, thus suppressing their votes.

Superformance GT40 is the make and model of the car. It has a Roush 511 cubic-inch fuel injected engine. The "tl;dr" version is, blow a bunch of money on something that ruins your hearing but is insanely fun to drive...for about 45 minutes.

I had a Factory Five Cobra a while back, 302 Roller with side pipes and a top loader transmission. A whole lot of fun, but you needed an Advil after a 30 minute ride, and you didn't want to sit in traffic, it wouldn't over heat but you would.

Nice ride. I think the average length of ownership of these continuation/replica cars is probably about 3 years. They're not very live-able or versatile, frankly.

I've swapped rides with a few Cobra owners, with a variety of engines. The GT40 commands your attention, but the Cobra wants you dead. Short wheelbase and all that grip and power with nowhere to go but sideways. The pedals are offset way to the outside, so that gets uncomfortable pretty quick. The other thing I wasn't crazy about, was the exhaust sound with the side pipes. To my ears, it sounded "separate," like 2 4-bangers.

My wife made me buy it....she knew I had to get it out of my system. I was looking at a Porsche 930 for $39K, and she said "you want a cobra".....I wish I'd have bought the 930, but the FF Cobra was a blast. I sold it for more than I paid for it and got my Z4MC.

Wow, your wife made you do way cooler shit than either of mine ever made me do. The first one tried to make me sell a bunch of my toys while simultaneously trying to dress me in the worst "nerdware" wardrobe you ever saw. The second one tried to reshape my skull by breaking a glass ashtray over my head while I was passed out on the couch. I think I need to upgrade. Where'd you get yours?

You can try and throw a bunch of things on wall the spin this but the fact remains, the post you made earlier was pretty much 100% incorrect on both counts and thatís what I addressed. Now you want to talk about aids and the Cold War? No thanks, not interested

The irony is that just a generation or 2 ago her family was fighting AGAINST the exact segregation that she's calling FOR

my buddy had a CAV GT40, he loved the car, but hated driving it more than 30 minutes at a time

I sold my FFR last year, I had it for 11 years, and sadly put just 10,000 miles on it. Mine had a 408W, tremec, and irs. It would cruise at 80 on the highway in 5th at 2000rpm, but downshift and mash the pedal (at any speed) and it would try to take your life.

It's a car every car guy should own at some point

Letís just say she is right, a complete bonehead way of bringing light to it. There are better ways but zero strategy here. You canít be surprised if white people are offended, or any one.

3rd time's a charm....my first two ex wives didn't like letting me have much fun.

Lisa, the current and keeper supports my love of cars, boats and guns. In fact, she has a 79 Mini with a pretty hot 1275 Cooper engine, and she has a couple of her own guns. It get's better, she likes to drink whisk(e)y, looks better than most 20 somethings and makes about twice what I did. She's retiring in the next few months and wants to go to Monaco for the 2021 F1, our 60th celebration. Life is Good.

Keep looking my friend, there are a few unicorns out there.

Why does it have to be us against them? In the past, there were cruel and unjustified treatment of minorities. But I think the US and the world have matured enough that it no longer needs a broad affirmative action programs. You certainly don't need it in professional sports or the music industry.

Common courtesy goes a long way. No one has the right to belittle other people based on his/her race, religion, education or any mental superiority he/she feels over another.

I still believe there are factions in this world that benefit from dividing people between us and them. Choosing to focus on the difference rather than embracing similarities.

I also think this is why a forum like this is so successful because it focuses our attention to our love and hate of BMWs.

Perhaps when we have extra terrestrial beings taking over this planet, we could have a human forum and have a united front.

And you can't wear shorts to cope with the heat, either. First time you get out of it you're going to get a 3" diameter 2nd degree burn on the calf of your left leg, from the sidepipe. Go ahead...ask me how I know this.
