Overheating issues
Hi. My car yesterday overheated. Got the yellow then red light. I immediately pulled over. I let the car sit for about 5 mins then I was good for another 20 miles with the heat on full blast. The fan for some reason isn't turning on which I believe is why I'm having this issue. I turn the AC on full blast and the fan goes go but not like in turbo mode. Could it be my water pump or thermostat? Thanks for any info.

That recall is for the HVAC fan, not the radiator fan. Btw... there have been several recalls for the 135i. B-pillar insulation, HVAC fan wiring, battery cable wiring, airbags, injectors, etc... Check with your dealer to see whats open recall wise.
OP sounds to me that your water pump is dying. Replace it along with the thermostat and U-shaped coolant hose. Let me guess... 60K to 85K miles on your car ? Replace them!! Dackel

*edit* After rereading your post, maybe it was just your radiator fan malfunctioning. If that's the case, the heater would probably help so long as the water pump was working. Last edited by Thunderguts; 02-18-2020 at 12:09 PM.. |
