Eater.
A few folks thought I was being too confrontational like waving a red flag in front of those on the road that could eat a 1er alive - but I find the implied challenge has been a lot of fun and stimulated a lot of good car conversations - as well as leads to good tracks and good mechanics etcetera. Just last week a guy in a new Camaro rolled up next to me at a light with a big smile on his face. Instead of a throw down he rolled down his window, asked I'f I'd taken the 1 to Watkins Glen yet and informed me there is a driving school this (next) weekend. Then he added the name of the only place in town he'd trust his wheels to commenting on my black Breytons. Would that have happened with a plate that had EFG7632 on it? Who knows.

If I get a LeMans Blue 135i, I want to get "SAFF1RE" since it will look like a blue sapphire.
However, my better half wants it to be in Blue Water and HATES vanity plates, so guess it will remain a dream. --J |

Exactly. It might also make life harder for these new camera based plate readers they're putting in a lot of cop cars that are capable of running every plate they drive by (supposedly to check for stolen cars, but more likely for revenue generation for expired plates). Of course, it's going to be pretty pointless on a car with volumes as low as the 1 Series, at least if the Cop is serious about catching you. He'd know it was a small BMW, a quick check of the website would confirm it's a 1 Series, he'd know the color, and the state the plate was from, and then he'd be knocking at your door. |

Cop says to himself, "It was a small BMW". Everyone he knows then replies... "so it was a 3 series...". Off the hook.....

Thanks, that makes sense. I could not figure it out. What about the ones with LOL. Does that really mean Laugh Out Loud on a plate?? |

I may be able to put it at the end though. I'll try that. Edit: Oh yes! We have a winner! I'm going to get it. |

^haha nice. In Illinois we cant mix letters and numbers. So i was thinking NMNMNMN which could have a double meaning, 1) the confusing part and 2) NOM NOM NOM hahaha

I've considered the NMNM thing as well. I'm wondering how well redlight cameras will deal with things like that? We'll know soon enough. |
