HELP - Stupid Radio Question!!!
This might be a stupid question and please forgive me if it is ..
BUTTTTTT - Im going crazy. While driving my radio gets louder then softer .. and its driving me nuts!!! I remember when I test drove the car, I noticed it and mentioned something to my sales guy .. At that time he told me it was the station going in and out .. Welllllll .. A month later (after buying the car) its still going in and out and Im having a hard time believing its that station .. I noticed on my screen it says HD1 and also has an HD2 (but that doesnt display unless I select it) .. Anyhow I remembered the sales guy saying something about the HD's and what the diff was - but I forget (I dont think I was listening --- just enjoying my test ride). Ok ok .. long story short .. I have noticed the station going back and forth from HD1 to ST (or wait does it say SR?? .. nooo think its ST) .. when its ST - its loud and when its HD1- its low .. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT??? AND IF SO, IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE THIS STOP?!?!?!?!?! Again sorry if this sounds completely stupid - but Im really new with this whole car thing and I just really need some answers at this point .. Nothing like a good song on and not being able to enjoy it because for like 15sec's at a time I cant hear it!!!!!!!

That I can almost answer 100% by saying no its not .. Doesnt matter how fast or slow .. it has a mind of its own .. the volume gets higher and lower randomly and it happens when the display changes from HD1 to ST ..

Sounds like you have an HD radio and you are listening to a HD station. When you loose the HD signla it goes to the normal stereo (ST) signal.
HD radio was an option prior to 2010 models. 2010 onwards and its standard I believe. Can'y you just turn off the HD option and listen to that station in sereo (ST). Time to whip out that user manual. Our cars also have a auto volume control - meaning the faster you drive the louder the radio volume gets(to compensate for windnoise. There are five levels of adjustment for this feature. Dackel |

When you're on the tuner display, there is a "SET" option to the right of the 1 - 6 buttons. Just select that, then you'll see HD as the first item on the menu that comes up. Hitting the button below it turns HD on/off.
