Will They Fit 215/45r18 and 245/40r18?
(I looked throughout the Wheels and Tires sections and the FAQ's but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.)
Bought a 2008 128i a few years ago and have to replace the tires. I have the sport package and 18" (Staggered) wheels. Right now they are running stock sizes. FT: 215/40r18 RT: 245/35r18 I was wondering if i could go with the below heights without any rubbing issues. FT: 215/45r18 RT: 245/40r18 |

Just to add to this thread for future folks googling:
In the rear I went from a very harsh ride - star bmw MPSS 245/35r18 on a 9.5j rim (ET44), to PS4S tires in 245/40r18 on the same rims. Stock M-sport suspension. The difference in ride quality is very noticeable. Less crashy feeling on bad roads and still lots of grip and confidence on hard turns. No rubbing from what I can tell so far. With the slightly stretched size on my 9.5j rims the taller tires really compensate and make the rears a lot less harsh. This could also be the compound differences but I'm loving the change so far! |
