Will the powerplant find its way into future M cars or is this engine a ONE off, so to speak?
Pun intended.

GT3 can t take all speedbumps

I won t sell a GT3 for it though. High rev engines are the best.

Daily drifter? Hahaha I like that. I agree though, no way I would sell my GT3 for this! But I could add to the collection potentially...

Ha! I'll try and find out - in the studio

Just about to set off and meet up with the car and it occured to me that the 1 Series M Coupe is the most widebody M-car since the E30 M3, in fact I'd even go so far as saying it's THE most visually altered M-car yet produced.

Some people might be saying that's a good thing, since the 1 Series isn't exactly known for its good looks, but I'm already of the mind that this a stunning looking car.

I'll let you know in a few hours time...

Please find out the hardware changes to the engine. (if any)

Turbos, intake/exhaust manifolds, head/valve-train, intercooler, etc.

Also, how much negative camber in the front stock, and will there be room for adjustment.

+ 1

I would like to know the differences between the 1M and the 135i. I would also like to know how BMW achieved the extra 25kw. Was it the result of an ecu tune or was it a combination of a tune and upgraded exhaust etc?

from inside line (edmunds)

Just the Facts:

* 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe will roll out in the U.S. this spring starting at around $45,000.
* BMW 1 Series M Coupe gets a 335-horsepower inline-6 mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
* The U.S. allotment is under 1,000 units.

"The U.S. allotment is under 1,000 units" - I really hope not.
I really wish we could get a clear response on this. 2,700? 2,800? 1,000? We've also heard "as many as capable in 1 year timeframe"

SCOTT, help!

Hey guys, I have updated my earlier post with some of our studio shots of the 1 Series M Coupe plus my interpretation of the spec as I saw it today. http://www.skiddmark.com/2010/12/09/...eries-m-coupe/

Tomorrow I'll publish the feedback gained from a SkiddMark reader that I invited along to the shoot (he's also got a deposit down on the 1 Series M Coupe), plus I'll answer as many of the questions you raised on this thread.

We also shot a video from the studio and captured the exhaust sound, so you'll get a chance to listen and make your own minds up.

For the record I thought it was one of the most special M cars I've had the pleasure of sitting in during the past 10 years. Really special.

Good night all and will hopefull chat with you tomorrow.

Yes, the rear seats do fold. They are split 60:40 and are dropped using the two levers inside the rear boot.

Thank you sooooooo much for that. Now one more question.

Inside Line claims only 1000 units coming to USA. (please tell me this is wrong)
