I wouldn't have pulled the downpipes if wheela didn't mention that a seized turbo would be a giant boost leak. Thank you.

2009 BMM 135i  [9.50]
Pulled the turbos, and found that the rear turbo (failed one) was missing the nut on the compressor side. It was (amazingly) sitting in the rear inlet pipe. I was very surprised that the compressor wheel wasn't damaged. I didn't see any metal in the high pressure pipes leading to the intercooler.
The exhaust side is barely recognizable. It looks like the turbine took some of the housing along with it.
