135i turbo replacement on Jack Stands
Hey guys,
Long time reader first time poster here! I’m about to pull the trigger on turbo replacements for my ‘09 135i. I’m strongly considering doing the work myself and spend the money I had planned for labour in suspension parts to reduce body roll. I have seen/read from plenty of people doing the snails job on jack stands but not for the 135i. Is there enough space down there to do it from underneath? Anything special to look out for on this chassis vs the E90/92? Thanks, Francis |

Did it more than once on jack stands, it's fairly straight forward. Make sure your jack stands are high enough and you should be fine. It is the same job as E9X chassis, a bit easier because no front subframe brace.

Awesome thanks!
Just ordered the turbos. Any tips you wish you would’ve known the first time? Wrenching quite a bit on this car... It’s somewhat of a pain... but I forget as soon as I hop back in it haha! |

Change all the cooland an oil lines gaskets
Don't crush the graphite exhaust manifold gaskets Put the rear turbo in first Attach the oil feed lines on the turbos before installing them Thats all i can think of from the top of my head |
